"House of Love (Ogbe Yekun)," ÌFÉ's second single is a ghostly, beckoning musical offering. Recorded live using improvised electronic instruments, ÌFÉ mixes Cuban Rumba with the digital sounds of Jamaican Dancehall, creating a musical space and expression altogether its own. At times tender, at other moments seductive and flirtatious, the song is an invitation / an offering to those forces that walk among us and a reminder that life is nothing if not a constant act of giving to receive.

HOUSE OF LOVE (Ogbe Yekun)

ÌFÉ's latest single, Umbo (Come Down), is a musical invitation to the benevolent forces that be. Drawing from rhythms and incantations of sacred Yoruba praise songs, ÌFÉ calls out to those would would hear us in our times of need. Keenly aware that our most potent gods, and loves, are first met dancing, and we take our plunges from there. Part celebration, part adoration, Umbo beckons us into that space between places, where we can let go and be brought to shore.

ÌFÉ is a bold new musical project from Puerto Rico polymath Otura Mun. Mun, an Ifá priest or 'Babalawo' in the Yoruba religion, has been at the vanguard of the Puerto Rican music scene since arriving from Indiana US in the late 1990s, producing critically acclaimed albums and songs for many of the island's most important musical voices, including Mima, Cultura Profetica and Calma Carmona.  ÌFÉ is his first solo project.

Founded by New Orleans based producer and percussionist Otura Mun, ÌFÉ is a futuristic live electronic music project blending elements of Afro-Cuban folklore and Yoruban religious music with the bass driven sounds of modern day Jamaican Dancehall, Trap and Afro-Beat. The single most important electronic act in Afro-Caribbean music, ÌFÉ’s 2017 debut album “IIII+IIII” revolutionized the way electronic music was conceived and performed, seamlessly combining the intricacies of Afro-Caribbean percussion and song with the power of modern electronica played in real time, no DJ’s, no programming, totally freed from the grid. A groundbreaking reimagination of ancient diaspora music and movement, ÌFÉ’s music explores the higher frequencies while paying keen attention to the lower ones in a way that feels equal parts riot and ritual. Their highly anticipated sophomore album is slated for release in Spring 2021.
