The familiar and the foreign collide on “Flute Worship,” taken from Akimbo’s Sun Moon & Five Peaks EP on Tonal Unity. The new release is the result of Akimbo, an alumni of the 2011 Academy in Madrid, living for the last couple of years in Korea and exploring the country’s rich heritage of traditional music. An 80 BPM club tune with audible inspiration taken from zouk and jungle, “Flute Worship” also highlights the Piri (피리), letting the unique sound of the double-reed flute take the melodic lead.

In the single Chilliflake Honeysap clever rhymes from fellow London duo OthaSoul lace this slick groove, all snappy beats and supremely funky bass. Tight production from master beat maker Ben Hayes take SumoChief's jazzy instrumentation from hard hitting boom bap to a spacey half time groove with ease.

This is the first release from their upcoming EP 'SumoTreats' dropping on October 19th. Be ready for more soulful and funky grooves to get your head bopping.

Le deuxième album de Grup Ses voit enfin le jour, cinq ans après son premier disque "Beats & Pieces From 60's & 70's Turkish Psychedelia".
Au programme, 19 morceaux produits dans le pur style Grup Ses, savant mélange de hip-hop instrumental et de bass-music, relevé par des samples de psyché-turc.

Travaillé à la main pendant 3 ans dans le quartier de Beyoglu a Istanbul, Grup Ses a su convier la crème de la scène beat-making turque mais aussi d'autres producteurs européens : Gantz, Fulgeance, Coco Bryce, Nodul, Biblo, Elektro Hafiz et bien d'autres ont contribué à ce futur album.

Le Mellotron diffuse en exclusivité le titre "Atar", l'un de nos favoris de ce nouvel opus ! Un track qui vous interpelle par sa composition de départ déstructurée afin de mieux vous embarquer ensuite dans un rythme turkish effréné.

Le LP sera disponible le 17 octobre en digital et en vinyle (limité a 1000 exemplaires) sur le label lillois Besides Records qui fêtera sa 4ème sortie !
