Anthology Strings was crafted by Academy Award, TEC and G.A.N.G Award Winning Composer and Producer, Troels Folmann and Emmy-Nominated Composer and Orchestrator, Colin O’Malley. Anthology is the true reimagination of our original Adagio and Agitato String collections – hand-designed with our favorite 66.500 samples from both collections.

Anthology contains both Ensemble, Divisi and Solo String sections for both Violin(s), Viola(s), Cello(s) and Basse(s). All recorded exclusively with grand Neumann microphones – inside a rare church recording environment. The three sensible microphone positions (Close, Mixed, Far) offers you full mastery over the sound. We developed custom techniques for the close microphones – allowing them to record much closer and intimate than your common church scoring environments. No samples overwhelmed in reverb. Instead a touching and passionate collection of strings. All designed to capture your most beautiful thoughts.

The beating heart of Anthology Strings is its playability, emotion and ease-of-use. A compendium of all principal articulations needed for advanced orchestration – and equally built for fast and expressive string writing. The custom smart browser offers you access to everything. A single click gives access to all articulations. A few clicks and you’ve designed your personal matrix of articulations.

Anthology Strings is symmetry. All String Sections have identical articulations and that goes for all Ensemble, Divisi and Solo Strings in the library. But most importantly Anthology is for you. Kitkaliitto come from Finland and are a really loose band in terms of membership - there can be one to five people in the studio just jamming together and what they usually generate is a music-driven stream of consciousness that also materialized through the years into these 6 exquisite tracks on their Pleasure Disorder EP.

They use analog and digital synths, guitar, bass, flute and sometimes have guest vocalists. Even though everything happens impromptu, there's more to these jam session than words could describe, hence the results are nothing short of amazing. They've been together, on and off, as Kitkaliitto for 10 years and their taste-range has led them in and out of electronic music, yet these tracks sound as timeless as music ever gets, six downtempo compositions that ooze the playful intimacy that can only be attributed to the decade of crafting a strong, remarkable sonic personality.

After hearing them on Natura Sonoris 4 years ago we connected through Borealis' "Voidness" where they were featured as remixers. We are proud to provide the platform for their sophomore release, 6 years after their debut on Kann Records and we are already excited about the Reverend Slim remixes EP that will follow later in the year.

Kitkaliitto - Looking Glass

www.TheEchoSociety.com is a Los Angeles-based collective that gathers to create and share new sonic and visual art. Our third concert "Bloom," featured a 20 piece chamber ensemble performing original works for the first time, alongside special guest composers Amon Tobin and Ryat.

The LA-based ensemble, comprised of traditional instrumentation mixed with electronics, was created for the show and conducted by our very own Joe Trapanese. The sold-out night showcased visual design by Brady McGowan & Effixx, and sound & mastering by Satoshi Noguchi. Recorded live March 12th, 2015 at Vibiana in Los Angeles.

This is a remix of Paper Unicorn from Ochre's album Isolette which actually turned into more of a cover version.  I've been a huge admirer of Chris' work right from his early demos - REM Sleep Research will always be somewhere in my all time top 10 electronica tracks.  

He's continued to release some of the most beautiful and intricate music in the field.  You can find the original of this track, and all his fantastic music at his bandcamp: http://bandcamp.ochremusic.com/

This cover version has been made available to download with the artist's permission.  Thanks to Chris, it's a wonderful piece and I had a lot of fun putting this together.

Includes a Radio Edit of “Flight”, and in addition to “Dust (Floex remix)” the release features three new remixes: previous single “Footsteps” is given a beautiful reworking by Lost Twin, and “The Windfall” receives the treatment from both Maddslinky (aka Zed Bias) and The Colonel. Released by Tru Thoughts Recordings. The single is also out on 10” vinyl, care of Denovali Records.

The climactic scene from D. Lee Inosanto's "The Sensei", this cue wraps up all of the themes in my score for this terrific heartfelt drama about life, death, love and acceptance.

Taken from Dmitry's forthcoming 'Comprehension Of Light' album, which will be released on FatCat's 130701 imprint on October 6th.

The stunning ‘Comprehension Of Light’ marks a sizeable step forward for Dmitry. A must-hear for fans of fellow 130701 alumni Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka, the LP is Dmitry’s first ever vinyl release and is a wonderfully conceived and realised work. Where ‘Collage’ was heavily augmented with an expansive use of electronics and virtual instrumentation, the new album sees Dmitry upgrade to real strings / orchestral instrumentation with a more limited use of software. ISKRA String Quartet (The XX, Radiohead, Jóhann Jóhannsson) contributed strings. Other contributors include William Yates (Memotone), Abul Mogard and Benoit Pîoulard. It was mixed by Addi 800 (Ólafur Arnalds) and mastered by Martyn Heyne (Nils Frahm, Peter Broderick, The National and others).

In places recalling Jóhann Jóhannsson and Hauschka, in others the work of Leyland Kirby / The Caretaker, or Eduard Artemiev's score for Tarkovsky’s ‘Stalker’, 'Comprehension' is a stunning album which traces a redemptive narrative arc and bears witness to a rising young talent in the field of modern composition.

It's a privilege to finally release something with them.
