TEDx Poet Rachel Kann is a modern-day mystic: irreverently reverent and exuberantly human.

She's a Write Club Los Angeles champ and resident writer for Hevria. Her poetry has been featured on Morning Becomes Eclectic on NPR and as The Weather on the podcast phenomenon, Welcome to Night Vale. She is an award-winning performance poet and mixed-media collage artist as well as DJ. 

Her passion for music and making people dance is what finally drove her to take the plunge into DJing.

She has performed her poetry with people like daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra, Sage Francis, Saul Williams, and Rahzel, at venues such as Disney Concert Hall, the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, and the Vans Warped Tour.

Rachel has DJd locally and nationally, including residencies at the AC in Santa Monica and Flight 18, presented by Eric Wallach and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council in NYC. 

Rachel works in Ableton Live with an APC40 and incorporates Novation's Launchpad as well as Traktor Scratch and Serato Scratch into her repertoire.

Each episode of "Out... with Rachel Kann" features generally curious goofball, seeker and poet Rachel Kann sitting down to talk with someone really smart to bask in their wisdom. In every episode, guests are encouraged to “come out.” They are asked to reveal something about themselves that might surprise the listener. Who knows, they might even surprise themselves! Based on the video series of the same name, this podcast takes a longer time with each guest, allowing the conversation time to unfurl.
