I decided to try making something different.. first D&B track I've done. it's a dark one..

Ghost Sequence

Ebb and Flow

They gave me a plaque
and I gave them a shrug
Said I'd made it
but I still packed lunch in a mug

The mirror bowed politely
the inbox threw confetti
My name misspelled in bold
close enough to celebrate

I've got a title no one uses
a password I forget
My empire fits in folders
still waiting for respect

My paper crown bends in the rain
ink running down the royal face
Every rule I followed
spelled my name wrong anyway

But maybe that's the trick of it
meaning hides in the small print
The joke's on grand ambition
the punchline's in persistence

Because the crown is cheap
but it's mine
Cut from yesterday's plans
lined with coffee stains and time

It may not shine on stage
but it holds when the wind complains
It's proof I showed up
again
and again

My paper crown bends in the rain
but it catches the light just the same
Not gold
not perfect
but honest enough
Every crease is a story
every tear, tough

Maybe greatness was never loud
just someone staying kind
still trying
still around

We wear our paper crowns
the crooked, the flimsy, the proud
We wear them not for glory
but because we're still here
Still building something small
that somehow lasts

Yeah
Call it fragile
Call it foolish
but it fits

alternate of Thalassix done for the Music/Art Jam rapidly done for WNCJ39 when i found out the jam was conducted only through the Discord!  (and a reminder to myself to later make a dummy project page on Itch.IO, as if posting an Itch item that's not-a-jam... because i'm confused that it's not on my page lineup, lol...at this time: not yet done) Barely made the deadline.
