1st Non-Profit music label pushes free agenda!

Nucci Reyo (former “ghost writer” for P. Diddy) has launched the 1st Non Profit Music Label into the industry, called The White Flag Movement. The idea stemmed from Nucci Reyo's passion to combat the impact that being exposed to negative music and violent themes has had a negative effect on the community at large.  Reyo explains, “I stopped ghost writing because I no longer wanted to be a part of the negativity that Hip Hop has on the community.  I firmly believe in the power of music to both compel and repel, uplift and tear down; the sole focus is creating avenues for positive life changing music to enact change in the people's lives. “

When the idea of a Free Music Label was presented to music executives, many wondered how such a concept could work or come into fruition, but when there is passion, drive, and dedication there is always a way.  One of the innovative and intriguing aspects of this label is the founder's dedication to releasing positive music and putting it into the hands of the people who need it the most without worry of being able to afford the cost. In that spirit, all of the music, concerts, and merchandise from The White Flag Movement will remain free to the public.  Reyo states “We do not want a price point to stand in between the people and the message".  In an effort to keep with this philosophy, The White Flag Movement is supported solely through personal and corporate donations.  
 
In conjunction with Universal Records, The White Flag Movement has secured a distribution deal that will allow the music to be "purchased" in stores and online (ex: iTunes) at no cost to the consumer.  In an unprecedented move listeners and Fans will actually be able to take the cd to the register and see the price ring up as $0.00.  
 
The first song released is titled "Follow Me” the remake from Aly-US featuring the original singer Supa B.  It will be featured on mainstream radio, television via MTV, and throughout many blogs and sites.  
The original song has been played around the world and the remake is expected to break all boundaries, even crossing genres.  Nucci stated, “It’s not just the hip hop stations that want it, I’m getting calls from all different type of stations, Hip Hop, Party House music, R&B, and even Gospel.  This is for the world. You just can’t sit in your seat with this song.  You got to dance.”

Nucci Reyo, now known by his fans as  The Kings Kid first developed his love for Hip Hop at the age of 10; during a local New Jersey talent contest, an auditorium full of youth erupted in applause making it very clear that Nucci was their number one choice to take first prize. He knew he was onto something when afterwards he was approached by local teen club promoters to boost their crowds with his blazing performance and natural charisma. In 1999, while performing in a teen club, Nucci grabbed the attention of Union Label executives to whom he later signed a production deal and released his first collaborative single "Roll Wit Us" which received video rotation on Rap City.

In 2000, MCA Record executive Don Pooh, recognized Nucci as a lyrical mastermind and offered financial backing for Nucci's first solo album "American 21." Following the release of American 21, Nucci began getting heavy nods from executives throughout the industry and created a path for himself to blaze the stage with heavy-hitters such as Nas, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne. Recognized as a true lyricist, Nucci was then called upon to collaborate with P Diddy, Lil Flip, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Raekwon of Wu-Tang, Gillie the Kid, and the Bleach Brothers. Nucci was also able to work with R&B singers including Carl Thomas, Marques Houston, R.Kelly and artist, Deemi who he collaborated on the hit song "On The Radio." In 2005, Nucci released Welcome to NuccJerz, featuring his hit single "Pray For Me" which received heavy radio rotation from the notorious Hot 97 DJ's.

In June 2007, Nucci's all around musical gift led to his being cast in the hit gospel play entitled, "Don’t Count Me Out." During this experience, Nucci's life was impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ and he became born again; it was then that his life was catapulted into a new direction and a new message was birthed in his heart. Nucci committed to yielding his gift to God and his music now breathes a fresh anointing destined to impact a generation. After appearing in "Don't Count Me Out," he took other roles in gospel plays including; "Judgement Day" and a role as the Prophet Isaiah in, "Mary and Martha." Nucci's entrance into The Kingdom of Light is truly prophetic and timely. Since then Nucci has starred in the Hip Hop Musical Divine Intervention which ran for 6 months in 2010. This powerful musical is part of The White Flag Movement which is a Movement led by Nucci and promotes the Hip Hop generation surrendering to God. Universal Music Group will be distributing the the DVD and animated movie version of Divine Intervention in May 2012. Expect to hear more from Nucci Reyo The Kings Kid.
