Iris Anahata is a Malaysian-born DJ based in Berlin. Throughout her life, dance and music has been a way to release and transmute emotions, and provided a window to understanding and integrating the body with the heart. Weaving sonic journeys by transmuting the dualities of dark and light, her sets are all uniquely crafted with a touch of ethereal vocals and heavy basslines. She lights up the dancefloor with sounds that range from downtempo to melodic and progressive techno, and wishes to use music as a way to unite and heal our collective.

3 QUESTIONS to KADOSH:

Q: Let's get into the mood for your mix. Why did you choose these tracks and what did they meant to you once and still mean to you today?

A: I choose these tunes because although they don't represent my sound, they do reflect in various ways my approach as an artist these days. Needless to say, this music influenced my romantic journey with electronic music.

Q: Would you still play some of those tracks in your DJ sets today?

A: The answer is yes. Most have been dropped during the years in my sets. I believe that in the right moment, each track has its place during the journeys I try to create.

Q: What projects are you currently working on and what can we expect from you soon?

A: Last year my main focus in the studio was on creating the album which was released in August, while in 2023 my goal is to put out more singles which some already found their way to labels like Multinotes, Rebirth, Exploited, Monaberry, Live at Robert Johnson, and many more. Parallel to that, I plan to keep working with some of the amazing artists on my label Frau Blau. Furthermore, you can catch me play during the next months in Europe at some of my favorite destinations. I will also return to Latin America for a few shows, as well as debut in some spots in Asia which will be announced soon. Thanks to Marc DePulse for the opportunity to be part of this important platform.

MaJa – oh jaaa! :: wippte bereits als Baby im Laufgitter und verliebte sich in Techno im Dauerrambazamba und Lichtbeschuss der grossen 90er Jahre Raves: Der dritte Raum, Sven Väth, Jeff Mills, und viel später Rosanna von «Les Belles de Nuit» inspirierten MaJa dazu, sich selbst an die Controller zu wagen.

MaJa liebt es, im Hier und Jetzt zu sein und sich ganz in der Musik zu verlieren. Sie strebt nach ausgeklügelter Balance zwischen Master und Servant oder dark und bright. Darum geht es MaJa in ihren Sets: Immer auf der Suche nach dem glitzernden Tanzmoment. MaJa gibt Tanz-Seelen die Möglichkeit zu baumeln und schafft es auf ihre einzigartige Weise, trippige Grooves in hypnotischem Techno mit strahlender Freude zu übergiessen. 

MaJas Sets sind vielfältig und erzählen Geschichten - von Ekstase bis Introspektion, von heller Euphorie bis dunkel- mystischer Deepness. Sometimes the small and unexpected slips through our carefully constructed security defenses, and things get a little tough.  But through these obstacles and pain, we eventually push through.  LP49 was recorded live at a Califari event in Santa Monica, CA and features tracks by Darius Syrossian, Solomun, Juliet Sikora, Japanese Breakfast, Joeski, Cioz, and Thyladomid.

Der Hauch von ein wenig Rauch schleicht davon und was bleibt ist der Schall "Blub ... Blub ... Kawumm!" und schon ist es geschehen, der weißbärtige Mann liegt mit der Bommel vorneüber auf dem Sofa. Wie kam er dorthin? Und wo kam er her? Einst machte hier der Sunday Joint als Partyreihe "Blub" und "Blub", doch erst bei dem extra für den Kranich initierten event "Schall & Hauch" machte es so richtig "Kawumm" und aus https://soundcloud.com/marinelli und https://soundcloud.com/buzzboris wurde das DJ-Team Schall&Hauch. So tingeln die 2 Herren seit 2018 von Dach zu Dach, ab und an machen sie Krach und hin und wieder spielen sie Weirdo Disco Lieder (ab) mit einem Akzent auf Boogie, Funk und Disco Perlen aus Afrika sowie House- und Pop-Anleihen. Soweit so vielseitig gut, mit "Blub Blub Kawumm" stellen sich Schall&Hauch vor, doch woher kommt der ... nanu, wo ist er hin? Das Sofa leer, die Anlage an und das Rentier hat das halbe Fass Bier leer gesoffen (was die rote Nase in diesem bunt gezeichneten Film erklären würde, aber das ist ne andere story) - na was solls, der Beat klickt und die Drums rollen und der Mix, der ist smooth, organisch und hat Melodien! Schönen 6. Dezember euch und uns und ALLEN!
