2013 is the year that GT Scragg struck out on his own. 

After fronting GT and the Sidewinders for over 10 years and then playing drums for Hotgun for 3, GT Scragg was ready for a change. Funny how change is usually found in the most familiar of places. For GT, it was the acoustic guitar that is always within reach in his living room. Having been a prolific songwriter for many years (he started playing music at age 7), GT found himself gravitating toward his voice and acoustic guitar more and more to find musical satisfaction. Constantly in pursuit of bettering his song craft, he started learning and arranging popular music from all styles and eras in order to unlock the DNA of great songwriting. 

Early in 2013, GT was asked to play a few intimate performances and decided to try them alone. Armed only with his voice, acoustic guitar and his unique arrangements of some of popular music's best songs, GT wowed audiences with his raw musicianship, sense of humor and ability to put on a show. After years of playing music in bars, he really knows how to throw a party, keep the dance floor full and keep patrons returning to the bar for one more round. Isn't that what popular music is for? 

GT's playlist spans all styles, from rock to blues, from country to pop. You will hear familiar songs and original songs that sound like familiar songs. You will be totally entertained. You might just want to do a shot. You definitely will not be bored. GT Scragg delivers a professional show with minimal gear at any volume level. That might be the biggest discovery that GT has made through this year of change: Rock and roll isn't about volume, image or shock value. Rock and roll is about providing a soundtrack for people to escape from their normal lives for an evening. It's about delivering music that is recognizable, fun and lays the foundation for the party that we all want to attend.
