2021 Year End DJ MIX

The time has come for us to release one of our precious dubs. Recorded back in the day as dubplate tradition, we refixed that old riddim keeping the minimum elements from the original. The result is this DPLTSERIES #1.

This double A sider brings the vibes of León Demaría and Emeterians riding the vocal tracks. Recorded years ago, these tunes thrills us just as much as the first time.

The mastering is cooked at Alchemy Dubs Studio by Oscar Pablos "Ojah" with his magic touch.

This vinyl-only 12" is a Limited Edition with a Hand Stamped, Numbered & Stenciled jacket. 

It won't be repressed, so hop on it one before it is gone.

Coming up with another surprise from our magic box of treasures is ¨I (aya) care¨, a mystical gift from the mysterious lands of Eastern Europe, specifically Ukraine, that will make you dive into a Universe of spiritual reflection, sonic dreams and beautiful organic grooves.

A work full of deep enigmatic voices from the profound world of the Universal soul, as the EP conception combines musical and spiritual ideas from South America and Eastern Europe, this supported by the unique voice of Maryna Rusia Shukiurava aka Shuma and the production talent of Ok Selekta, presenting here his first EP work ever showing an incredible talent for artistic conception and execution of a wonderful journey.

Apart from this, the EP also showcases the contributions of four other Ukrainian remixers, each adding their distinctive flair while remaining aligned with the album's enchanting journey. This collective effort creates a wholesome experience of medicinal tunes, catering not only to the dance floor but also to the soul.

The EP in the words of the artist: ¨"It's about the importance of caring and being ready to accept care, as I do care about my soul, I do care about other people, I do care about nature and at the same time I care about ¨Pachamama (mother nature)¨ and so Mother Nature is caring about us, it can: heal, give wisdom and inspiration. Telecast - #021 - Telecasting to the cosmos!
As we sit at home, we find ourselves anew and see things in a new light. So did I. Inspired by numerous sets out there, I’ve been going into my own musical history to find forgotten gems of my youth (Mark Knopfler & Pete Philly & Perquisite), new artists I fell in love with (J.J. Cale & Kevin Morby), timeless classics (Nina Simone & George Harrison), and music with Dutch lyrics (Spinvis & Wim de Craene).

This special Telecast stems from a desire to listen to and work with different music. The music I normally listen to just isn’t cutting it at the moment and is propelling me to shake things up a little. My desire to listen to something that gives comfort and is emotionally uplifting to help me through times of distress is what brought this mix to light. 

This Telecast is filled with music that invokes memories from my past. From the time I set sail every weekend with my best friend from high school, the time when I was singing of the top of my lungs while driving around artists for a festival, the time when I felt pure happiness just walking around a train station listening to music on my way to meet friends, a time when I found out that the group of people I hung out with weren’t who I thought they were, a time when I rode back to Portugal and didn’t get further than Ghent, a time when I had no idea who I was and found solace in music, a time when I found big emotions within me through music with Dutch lyrics, a time when… well, you get the gist.

It’s been emotional, it’s been beautiful and although I could keep working on this Telecast and endlessly tweak it, it’s now time to release it and share this with you. I hope you’ll find comfort when listening and realise that even though these times are though, they also shine new light on you and offer you a chance to change things around for the better. And, hopefully, in doing so, when things do go back to normal again you’ll find yourself stronger than ever.
