Samaya's Interpretation | 40

"Que no muera nuestro canto" is the first Ka:lu's release on Hupupa records. It's deep, dark and meditative: like getting into the forest to find yourself and fight your fears. Stompy drums and a touch of psychedelia, will help the listeners to discover their guide spirit. The ancestral vocals makes you feel like you are a part of this delicate universe: all you have to do is getting involved in this shamanic dance and free your soul.

Half lion-half man avatar. Demon king Hiranyakashipu becomes enormously powerful, gains special powers by which no man or animal could kill him, then bullies and persecutes people who disagree with him, including his own son. The Man-Lion avatar creatively defeats those special powers, kills Hiranyakashipu, and rescues demon's son Prahlada who opposes his own father. The legend is a part of the Hindu festival Holi folklore.

An avatar (Sanskrit: अवतार, IAST: avatāra), a concept in Hinduism that means "descent", is the material appearance or incarnation of a deity on earth. The relative verb to "alight, to make one's appearance" is sometimes used to refer to any guru or revered human being. The word avatar does not appear in the Vedic literature, but appears in verb forms in post-Vedic literature, and as a noun particularly in the Puranic literature after the 6th century CE. Despite that, the concept of an avatar is compatible with the content of the Vedic literature like the Upanishads as it is symbolic imagery of the Saguna Brahman concept in the philosophy of Hinduism.

My journey this year brought me once again to medicine music. And because I got so much heartwarming feedback for my first mixtape in this style "Immer Irgendwann #4 by Julian Falk", which now reached nearly 30k clicks, I put together another story to guide you through these cold and dark winter days.

Thanks to Lafede for inspiring me to choose "Follow The Light" as the title. For me it tells what we probably all should do, especially in these days.

A ‘Lunar Fling’? A bit like a casual fling here on planet earth – all saucy, footloose and carefree – but way more cosmic and rocket-fuelled. Sexy, physical and full of all kinds of lost-in-the-moment promises, a ‘Lunar Fling’ is the best fun you can have with your clothes on or off. And this is the soundtrack…

Another slippery, glistening space jam from Hamburg trio RSS Disco, delivered on their own vinyl-obsessed label Mireia Records, it’s an intergalactic romp that gently lollops up and down as it glides you through the stars. The coordinates are familiar – we’ve been blazing this stellar circuit since Kraftwerk and Moroder – but the vehicles we’re being transported in are 2020 designed and primed. Both artists’ shuttles are powered by pristine, silky production: RSS Disco’s rockets are firing sexy bulbous flames while fellow German groovesmith Aera adding just a touch of thrust to the blend and really bringing the cascading arpeggio on the breakdown to life.

@farboddarvish is from north of Iran. He was born in 1992 as a producer and deejay. So he followed his destiny and recorded this great podcast for us!

Farbod moved to Malaysia in 2008 to study audio production at the International college of music (ICOM). He came back to Iran at 2012 and started his own record label in 2013 with Nesa Azadikhah.

Gato Preto was made, along with others, in a moment of inspiration and as an expression to what mandruvá is feeling with the political and social context of his country (Brazil), which is getting more difficult.

The name "Gato Preto" (black cat) symbolizes some sounds that he put on the track and mock the "bad luck" that they bring, where he despises this statement, thus being a darker sound, as a way to "haunt" those who think so...


mandruvá is one of the two minds that make up the multicultural project Pérola Branca (@perolabranca).
