"Kuhn from Brooklyn's Astro Nautico collective recently transformed Gilberto and Getz's 'Corcovado' into a dubstep, drag-and-drop beat that hesitates, then hits in both rhythm and tempo. Astrud Gilberto's voice blows bossa nova kisses your way, while Stan Getz's saxophone salutations make you feel right at home. Gilberto's voice rises to the foreground, doing a stereo sway from left to right, keeping the breezy Ipanema lounge aura intact, while the pianos and saxophone sound like they were drenched in purple drank, slurred to resemble free jazz wails. It's a track that has a day-drunken, dubstep swagger and plenty of sun-drenched bossa nova charm, but it's still cooler than cool-- ya, ice cold."

For the newest Jiberish Mixtape, we linked with up and coming producer Manatee Commune. Summits Vol. 1 is a smooth blend of airy hip hop beats and downtempo electronic sounds. 

Manatee Commune, a.k.a. Grant Eadie, began in the misty trees Bellingham, Washington. Combining textures of the rainy woods and the windy seas of the Pacific Northwest with the calming mood of clean surfy guitar licks and rolling arpeggiated sine waves, Manatee Commune seeks to capture the atmosphere of taking a thoughtful, self-reflecting stroll through the forest. Bright, down tempo percussion placed neatly under pleasant, classically influenced viola melodies make his music both easily listenable and complex.
