Aus Music follow up a string of releases from Shenoda, Recloose and Marquis Hawkes with a Disco-tinged 12” courtesy of a fresh signee and Millionhands head honcho Tee Mango. Having so far almost exclusively released on Millionhands alone, Tee Mango makes a rare appearance outside of his home turf and in doing so follows on from his acclaimed ‘Imperfections Vol.1’ LP which garnered widespread following from the likes of Axel Boman, Palms Trax, Gilles Peterson and Bonobo.
 
His EP#1 for Aus carries forth the sense of raw, sample heavy soul that was the real spark of Imperfections Vol.1, while maintaining a feel for the needs of the dancefloor. Loose, natural drums, deftly chopped samples and hazy synth lines keepit moody. This collection of 4 tracks could be the perfect soundtrack for those early days of sunshine.

Label boss @Nachtbraker is finally making his solo debut on Quartet Series after a successful EP last year on Heist Recordings. Widely known for exploring different sounds and angles with his productions, this record is the most club-orientated to date. Intricate ghetto house with a slight French touch to straight up 4x4 with a pinch of jacking flavour would be an accurate description of this release. The use of 90’s hip hop samples within this auditory concoction successfully highlights Nachtbraker’s excellent ear for detail and penchant for exciting, eclectic and downright weird changeovers.

The main hitter taking over the full A side is the title track “Small Towel People”. An uplifting bass line accompanied by heated 909 percussion and a hypnotic thriving arp to seal the deal. On the flipside, you’ll find “Kippendijen” on the B1. A heavyweight in the house category, some glimpses of early days jacking house and a little French touch on the filter. Throw in a breakdown even Houdini wouldn’t be able to handle and you’ll find yourself putting this track on repeat. Then when the needle hits the B2 groove, “Zomaar” kicks off with an energetic mpc style breakbeat before morphing into a deep jam of lush chords and a thrusting 4x4 beat. The track closes after switching back to the first part of the record and ends in a sublimely deep and dubby breakbeat.
Nachtbraker will be keeping you comfortably awake with this spicy record. Enjoy!

Meet French native but London based producer Valentin Lafont who has delivered a mood enhancing B-side flip to the latest BONN Dance Ideas EP. ‘Low Tide’ is a gentle and floaty trip to outerspace with delicate keys and calming percussion. It should leave you fresh and re-energised ahead of the impending Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK.

SB PREMIERE : Valentin Lafont - Low Tide [BONN]

This ridiculously soulful Summer-House EP is the first installment by Peter on Big Bait since 2015. We baked the essence of 3 years of studio work on 12" vinyl. Amongst two brilliant solo tracks, Peter brought in two coops with some excitingly interesting producers: 
"Arpeggio Funk" is the first co-production by the Columbian shooting star Felipe Gordon with Big Bait label boss Peter Clamat. The guys met up on soundcloud and immediately started working out some tunes together. 
"She hates Getting Photos" and "Tanzflächengebet" are solo productions by Mr. Clamat. Outstanding, colorful, perfect work as usual. Last but not least track no. four is the uplifting, 90's flavored remix of an unpublished Clamat-gem by Ugly Drums and Chesney. The two guys are old-stagers of the German House Culture and well known for their releases on Kalakutta Soul, AVA, Quintessentials etc.

"Infinitives" is one of the tracks that compose the EP "Brokenbits vol.1" soon to be released on vinyl and digital. It's a track that has a nice Jack J touch for those who know. It's deep, well crafted but airy at the same time. A great piece of music to enjoy any time, any day.

Nomadic producer Zen in Space releases LP Earth Tones, following two consecutively sold-out 12” releases on Moonshoe [MSH003] and Post Pluto [PPC001].

The warm & lush textures of Earth Tones were produced over 2 years with inspiration taken across Australia’s vast & captivating landscape. Here, we hear an array of sounds from ambient to downtempo, as well as experimental electronic. Earth Tones features various live instrumentation, analogue synthesis, drum machines and exotic rainforest, outback & wilderness field recordings; captured throughout Australia’s rich landscapes.

Zen took big inspiration from artists such as Four Tet, Boards of Canada, Floating Points, and J Dilla in creation of this project. Earth Tones aims to encapsulate the intense beauty of natural earth in all its shapes and forms, and the value we must give to its diverse landscapes & life. 

Earth Tones hopes to bring attention to the value & significance in preserving & respecting natural ecosystems & their deeply delicate & ancient systems.
