glossed over like neon angels,

slipping salvation in plastic sleeves.

stitched in gold and televised light,
selling grace in installment plans,
to the crowd with trembling hands.

Hymns fall like lottery tickets,
scratched hope on velvet pulpits,
every “hallelujah” a product line,
every “amen” another dime.

Jesus wears a shiny suit tonight,
mirrored shoes catch heaven’s sight,
blessing the faithful with staged applause,
between commercials for righteous cause.

Is it gospel or is it theatre?
A holy market, a velvet dealer,
faith flipped under spotlight beams,
truth auctioned in packaged dreams.

And when the lights collapse to dust,
who counts the coins, who holds the trust?
Only echoes remain in the empty pews,
a shiny suit, and worn-out shoes.
