Following the critical acclaim of their self-titled debut EP, praised by the likes of scene figures such as Gilles Peterson, Lefto, Laurent Garnier, Kevin Beadle, Pat Steel or Shy One, the Marseilles quartet Angles Morts is back with a four-track EP reflecting further growth in their sound. Drawing on the idea of itinerancy inspired by their wanderings on the roads of southern France, the project showcases a stunning soundscape, filled with the hypnotic textures provided by their arsenal of synths including Prophet Rev-2, Roland Alpha Juno 1, Emu-Orbit and Nord Lead A1. With its racing bass line, syncopated chords and dusty drums, the opening track “Macadam Freak” is a superb statement of the band's sound, concluding with a dreamlike saxophone solo by Matthieu Fabre.

After sending the music back and forth a couple of times, Rainer took it upon himself to create the video. I think it's very successful. Our next joint piece will be of a similar quality and category, perhaps even a bit rockier than this one, because it's called Firestarter. But for now, we hope you enjoy Into a new World
