A return to the foot of 13th century castle Mont Orgueil in beautiful Jersey on a balmy August Thursday evening, this time for a Secret Sunset, with about 50 people turning up to enjoy a dance... recorded live from a minimal setup with interesting echoes & acoustics; far from ideal for mixing seamlessly -  I'll just leave it at that! An unprecedented 11 white label edits & remixes in this set to try & counter the FB algorithm police, but also to keep the mixed audience engaged & moving! Starting off nice & gentle in the daylight it was fun to get into some after dark music too... I was delighted with the feedback from my very own first release coming out on @strippedmusicmgmt on 9th September; a remix of @darkersound1's Through The Night 🥰 Thanks to all who watched the stream or came down!

Today we finish our month long hook up with Tribu Sessions, by choosing a special guest from them and us, just for you... We think we've chosen wisely! A UK Based DJ and Producer who refuses to be pigeonholed by one genre, his amazing set's based at spectacular locations always encompass a broad spectrum of styles, a style that always captivates the crowd. Gus F is a musician, DJ and producer with a broad range of musical tastes reflected in the wide variety of events he plays at. Wether it be his residency at club night Dig Deep on the beautiful island of Jersey, to extended sets at Nude Beach, outdoor parties and even underground lock-ins.

Gus is a regular contributor to The Beat Laundry and Music.je live streams with numerous sets during both lockdowns, helping to keep our scene's crews all connected. As well as that Gus curates and produces music for his own Secret Sunset events; live streaming from different beautiful locations that showcase the island of Jersey.  These deep melodic sunset sessions have helped to share positive all vibes around the world.

Gus also won the soundcloud.com/sashaofficial /soundcloud.com/last-night-on-earth x TRAKTOR mix competition in November 2019 and having dipped his toe into production just last year has a forthcoming release on soundcloud.com/strippedmusicmgmt, EXCLUSIVELY aired in todays mix. There are a number of other remix commissions in the pipeline with well-known artists and labels, all after having made an impact with popular bootlegs from London Grammar, Billie Eilish & Kate Bush over the past 18 months.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 78 - Gus F

A half hour mini mix recorded for Tim Hunter's show on BBC Radio in the Channel Islands broadcast on 17th September; slightly self-indulgent including three of my productions but I was delighted to have the opportunity to showcase new music and premiere a couple of tracks on the BBC - thanks again for the support Tim! I included my unreleased track Oh My Love that has had great support from Nick Warren, Luke Brancaccio and Gustin, as well as my first two officially commissioned remixes; my remix of Darkersound's Through The Night that came out on Stripped Recordings in September... the remix EP hit the #1 spot in the Electronica genre on Beatport. I ended this set with my brand new remix of VegaZ from Sri Lanka's "Dreaming You" coming out on Emotional Content records on 25th October. Enjoy! x

For Volume 18, I return to my core focus of melodic, progressive and deep house music, with a special focus. A focus on the euphoric 😵‍💫 A focus on the emotive 🥰 And a focus on change 🥷. 

With so much change happening around us, it's important to focus on what makes us feel good, what motivates us to be better, and what gives us life. For me, music drives my motivation in everything I do; and with this mix I wanted to drive that feeling of euphoria home, and create a mix of music that transports, motivates and inspires me; with the hopes it may also for you.

He has been busy with productions, mixes and events since; dreaming up and broadcasting Secret Sunset to showcase new music at iconic locations around the beautiful island of Jersey and producing popular bootleg remixes from the likes of Kate Bush, London Grammar and Billie Eilish. Gus's first signed remix reached #1 on Beatport in the Electronica genre; a deep house version of Darkersound's "Through The Night" on Stripped Recordings. A number of other remixes were signed to Emotional Content and Music To Die For in late 2021. A massive remix of Bronski Beat's iconic Smalltown Boy was finally released in summer 2022 with Jimmy Somerville's blessing, almost 2 years and 1 million streams after a bootleg version was first aired at Secret Sunset.
