''After we met at a Bicep show in Paradiso, Amsterdam and got to know each other more, we noticed our taste was slowly moving closer to each other. We exchanged two unfinished tracks, and the rest was history. The EP came about faster than anything we've ever done; you can hear that. We didn't overthink it but had fun which shone through on the tracks. For us, that has been a big lesson. Tsepo & Ineffekt - There You Go

Het is 1977.  De 17jarige Anise verhuist met haar vader naar een groot landhuis in the middle of nowhere op het Ierse platteland. Daar is ze getuige van een moord. In haar slaapkamer ontdekt ze brieven die daar werden verstopt door een meisje van dezelfde leeftijd die 200 jaar geleden in hetzelfde huis woonde. 

De moord waar Anise getuige van was lijkt verband te hebben met de moord die beschreven wordt in de brieven van het meisje uit 1803. Ze gaat op onderzoek uit en raakt verwikkeld in de eeuwenlange strijd die gaande is tussen de Ieren en de Engelsen.

A History of Love and Now is de debuutroman van schrijfster en beeldend kunstenaar Anita Salemink. Tegen het decor van daadwerkelijke gebeurtenissen uit de Ierse geschiedenis -de hoogtijdagen van de IRA en de Ierse opstand ten tijde van The White Boys- is dit magisch realistische verhaal een ode aan het land waar ze opgroeide en waar ze naast de Ierse vertelkunst oog kreeg voor de tragiek van oorlog, onderdrukking, discriminatie, armoede en geweld.

Haar tweede boek is in de maak en heeft eenzelfde thematiek. Het speelt zich af tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Arnhem bij een gezin dat uit elkaar wordt getrokken doordat de oudste zoon zich aansluit bij de SS. 

Kwetsbaarheid, identiteit, onrecht en geweldspiralen die nooit stoppen zijn onderwerpen in zowel haar beeldend werk als in haar werk als schrijver.

So here I am, trying to bottle an elusive yet playful vibe. “Chemistry” is a wild ride through different worlds: the first half is like a bright, sunny beach party. The second half? Total transformation. Now, you find yourself in a sultry, neon-lit club. You get me?

“Chemistry” draws you into a day-to-night saga. It’s a love story just as summer is flapping its wings towards us – this is all, for now. I’ll see you on the dancefloor and who knows, there might be a new chemical reaction when this one drops at 01:29am.
