Working towards the 24/7 album in 2007 to 2009 it was clear that the new album would be change in feel.  Earth as just left and Daniel was on the sideline ready to participate if needed.  The feel was explored with various demos.  Most of them in relation with the Techno genre.  Here is one from 2008.  Demo 111

Keys in the ignition, no turning back: Dubfire and Miss Kittin are about to take us on another late night road trip. And this time there are two very special ways to ‘Ride’…

Plotting new routes from where they last dropped us off in 2014 with ‘Exit’, and presented in Miss Kittin’s own artwork, the two long term friends and musical kindred spirits cover a side each with two version journeys you’ll never forget. 

Kittin jumps straight on the autobahn in a tank-shaped techno hummer. Thumping the tarmac down with every gas-guzzling kickdrum, lights blur and trace and the mission gathers momentum as we cruise almost majestically into a brighter unknown.

Dubfire brings us back home via the trusty widescreen house plains. Roads running parallel with the grand, emotional highways he once took as Deep Dish; the vanishing point is far on the horizon where a vast sky of twinkling stars opens up with a feeling you could ride for days on end.

Unhurried, restrained and timelessly crisp and futuristic: trips like this don’t come about very often… The keys are in the ignition, care to take a ‘Ride?’

Through 161 shows we've been honoured to showcase some of the world's best DJs and producers, but it doesn't stop there. We're excited for another 9 years of cutting edge, forward-thinking dance music.

We start the year off with host Blake Sutherland and a tech-influenced studio mix oozing with big grooves and catchy melodies. Episode 162 begins deep and low key but builds in intensity as Blake works through music from Pete Oak, Kris Davis, Dave DK, and Vince Watson.

She will be dropping in to tell us about that EP, how she got into electronic music and what she’s up to in 2017.

Delayed with...Ripperton

Cityfox favorite and Watergate mainstay, @Matthias-Meyer delivered an impeccable Foxcast ahead of his performance on September 30th, 2017 at The Brooklyn Mirage season-closing event. We daresay this mix achieves near perfection for initial enjoyment and countless re-listens. At times symphonic, other times choral, at times riveting or euphoric, with seamless transitions and ever-steady groove between each motif. Mathias maintains a perfect mood during the hour-long journey as he traverses between all, with nary an off-note. We can't wait for his live primetime set.

About: Mathias Meyer is not only a formidable and beloved DJ, but a studio master with an exceptionally busy year of releases. BIO:
The Icelandic band Gus Gus originally spawned from a shortcut made by Siggi Kjartansson and Stefán Árni (a.k.a. Arni & Kinski) called “Pleasure”. Initially the band was acclaimed as an avant-garde collective of musicians, producers, filmmakers and performers. They mixed together different mediums to create a unique mixture of sound and vision. Their trademark style is combined with funky bass, streamlined synths and the intelligent use of technology and art. Árni & Kinski did the visual part and the musical side was driven by Birgir Þórarinsson (a.k.a. Veiran), Stephan Stephenssen (a.k.a President Bongo), Magnús Guðmundsson (a.k.a. Herb Legowitz). The live band was fronted by singers Daníel Ágúst, Hafdís Huld and Magnús Jónsson (a.k.a. Blake).

Gus Gus is an electronic soul band formed in 1995. A short break in a making of the shortcut made it possible for the first Gus Gus self-titled album to be born. In 1996 the band signed to 4AD Records that released their widely acclaimed second album “Polydistortion”. "This Is Normal" followed in 1999 and finally "Gus Gus vs T-World" appeared in 2000. During the 4AD years, Gus Gus started touring massively, stirring the music world with their powerful live-show. The touring life was stressful for the nine some and eventually called for changes within the line up. Six original members left and the three remaining producers (Veiran, President Bongo and Herb Legowitz) soon found hope in a new female singer, Earth aka Urður Hákonardóttir. The band has ever since focused on being a musical entity. 

In 2002 Gus Gus re-appeared with their 4th studio album "Attention" which includes their most successful dance floor hit “David”. On the album the band teamed up with the legendary producer Gareth Jones and Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jimi Tenor. The album demonstrates a sharply focused club-band full of creativity and even more energetic than ever. Daníel Ágúst
