These are 4 movements done by first creating a sound and then writing something interesting for it.  2 of these where used in the tracks Unfolder and Chernobyl.  The others are still unused demos

The backbone of the track Chernobyl is this melody on a modular patch that was created with on oscillator fluctuating in pitch, but in scale, and the others set so performing scaled pitch-shifting on a manual controller could be part of the performance.

Simple 317 - Chernobil (Stripped)

Still an unused demo.  This is written for this modular patch focusing on hard-syncing two oscillators with inverted modulation for stereo imaging.

Simple 319 - Unfinished V01

The backbone of the track Unfolder is this thundering sound created by having two oscillators, split in stereo, taking turns gliding up and back down in pitch, in scale and very fast.  when the LFO controlling the modulation slows down you are in for a treat.

Artistically born in 1990 during a performance at the Alter Ego, a well-known club in Verona (Italy) Marco Dionigi’s particular style was immediately noticed by the renowned Art Director Andrea Oliva, who apparently remained enchanted by the miscellaneous of electro-beat and experimental, which clear allusions to the 80s’ electro wave characterized at the time Dionigi’s compositions.
Thanks to the peculiar sounds of his style, Dionigi soon became one the most appreciated Italian DJs, and the pieces created in his own studio with the inspiring name of Ursa Major (founded in 1991) developed into instant successes on the dance floors nation-wide. Meanwhile, Alter Ego is turning into one of the main Italian Clubs.
In 1993 Dionigi creates a new sound called Slow Motion by merging BPM bass with hypnotic melodies and top resonances of new age/ethno dark wave. This is also the year of the foundation of “Tube Records”, a label that will expand Dionigi’s success across Europe with the unforgettable tracks, Anaconda, Heaven Flute, Le Serpent, Way Out, The Hard Rocks, Seregenti, Manta, Freefall, I’m Not Invisible, Le Tambura, The Ghost, Very Interesting, Cross, If You Wanna Party and Holiday in Africa.
Under the artistic direction of Andrea Oliva, Dionigi starts a collaboration with the Mazoom Club, where, for seven years, he basically invents the trendiest Friday nights’ events called “Love Afterhours”. After that he started to experiment the first Vestax CD Player thanks to the birth of laser technology through compact disks.
Dionigi enthusiastically jumps into the computer era by realizing sophisticated pieces that are immediately sought by the most famous Italian Clubs: Mazoom, il Muretto, Kinky, Ecu, Area City, and Cocorico. In 1994 the successful partnership with the father of all Italian DJs: Daniele Baldelli, the creator of the Cosmic Sound – a friendship that will inspire important electro-funk projects for several years, and countless pieces of music such as Cosmicdiba and Dibadub (Gomma Records,
1999); the celebrated, particularly in Canada, Funkadiba - The Future Funk (Jaywork, 2003); the Alien Picnic album (Jaywork, 2002), entirely realized by Dionigi.
The Dionigi-Baldelli team created their own label, “Pedivelle Records”, which immediately attracts attention with the track I Must Feel Better and the second brilliant album Those Lights (Marco Dionigi). They get noticed by “Eskimo Recordings” and were invited to remix pieces realized by famous artists, among who Holger Czukay, Alicia, Bridges, Spirit, Bronx Irish, Kevin Harrison, The Dream Syndicate, Richard Bone, Torch Song and Arpadis – all tracks are included in the Cosmic Rock album produced by “Eskimo Recordings”.
Dionigi currently collaborates with “Prismatikone Records”, with the new branch “Quantistic Division” where he is the A&R Manager.
The birth of “Quantistic Division” begins with the need of Marco Dionigi to create a label that represents his own music. “Quantistic Division” will propose Electronic Music, Experimental and House Funk music, reaching new frontiers of sound capes and new wave sounds of the next generation.
Marco Dionigi wants to fascinate with new sonorities frontiers with this new label, full of rhythm and minimalistic sound of alien harmonies full with messages. In other words like the quantic physic is taking us to the string theory and into the 11 dimensions of Edward Witten. Dionigi wants to be part of this new frontier of consciousness bringing the music where no one has ever dared before!

On February 2nd, dance music titan Eric Prydz returned to the hallowed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix decks, taking control of the airwaves for two hours of forward-thinking electronic music. This marked Prydz’ return to the Essential Mix show for the first time since late 2011, when it was recorded live from his set at Creamfields. The reaction to the show on Saturday was so big that it got the Essential Mix trending on Twitter on both sides of the Atlantic while it was being aired.

Eric Prydz - Essential Mix 2013 (Essential Mix of the Year)

Italian-Dutch composer Aimée Portioli (@grandriver) is part of a new breed of artist who is meticulous in the way she sculpts and designs her sounds. Along with the likes of Donato Dozzy and Neel - who run the Spazio Disponibile label she debuted on in 2017, and returned to in 2018 with first album Pineapple - she imbues her deep rhythms with ambient beauty, classical minimalism and a real sense of symphony. She is a poly-instrumentalist who mixes tradition and formality with contemporary experimentalism, and also runs her own label One Instrument, releases on Ghostly and Longform Editions, and is an occasional A/V performer who is at home at the world's most avant garde clubs and festivals.

This week, Grand River takes us on an ambient journey as meandering and meditative as her alias suggests. It's a study in absorbing sparsity, where beautiful drones are layered up next to rippling chords. Found sounds drift in and out of ear shot and delicate keys turn into vast walls of ominous sound. The whole mix is like a melting glacier, in constant but subtle motion that leaves you in an utterly different place from where you started.

The Icelandic band Gus Gus originally spawned from a shortcut made by Siggi Kjartansson and Stefán Árni (a.k.a. Arni & Kinski) called “Pleasure”. Initially the band was acclaimed as an avant-garde collective of musicians, producers, filmmakers and performers. They mixed together different mediums to create a unique mixture of sound and vision. Their trademark style is combined with funky bass, streamlined synths and the intelligent use of technology and art. Árni & Kinski did the visual part and the musical side was driven by Birgir Þórarinsson (a.k.a. Veiran), Stephan Stephenssen (a.k.a President Bongo), Magnús Guðmundsson (a.k.a. Herb Legowitz). The live band was fronted by singers Daníel Ágúst, Hafdís Huld and Magnús Jónsson (a.k.a. Blake).

Gus Gus is an electronic soul band formed in 1995. A short break in a making of the shortcut made it possible for the first Gus Gus self-titled album to be born. In 1996 the band signed to 4AD Records that released their widely acclaimed second album “Polydistortion”. "This Is Normal" followed in 1999 and finally "Gus Gus vs T-World" appeared in 2000. During the 4AD years, Gus Gus started touring massively, stirring the music world with their powerful live-show. The touring life was stressful for the nine some and eventually called for changes within the line up. Six original members left and the three remaining producers (Veiran, President Bongo and Herb Legowitz) soon found hope in a new female singer, Earth aka Urður Hákonardóttir. The band has ever since focused on being a musical entity. 

In 2002 Gus Gus re-appeared with their 4th studio album "Attention" which includes their most successful dance floor hit “David”. On the album the band teamed up with the legendary producer Gareth Jones and Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jimi Tenor. The album demonstrates a sharply focused club-band full of creativity and even more energetic than ever. Daníel Ágúst
