Free is a curious blend of styles, with a familiar kick drum cadence driving it, but Vails wispy vocals recall much more depth of feeling than many electronic tracks before ..Made with no computers .. just live analogue synth, piano and guitar .. classical and acid house sensibilities fuse to make three minutes of magic ............  his most radio friendly track to date

Ryan Vail consists of Derry duo Ryan Vail and Katie Vail  .Ryan's musical trajectory began at 16, playing in a number of bands before getting behind the decks as a turntablist for the next 8 years. A keen producer, he specialises in creating sound through unconventional methods, at one point learning the best way to utilise an analogue drum machine he bought in a pawn shop ( and was subsequently grounded for) for five years. The experimentation of Ryan is moulded by the structure brought by music teacher partner Katie Cosgrove, a flautist who offers a gorgeous delicate touch to proceedings..

2013 has been a very big year for them and they are currently writing their debut album .

Six tracks of deliberately uncomplicated downtempo electronica with an analogue-inspired melodic sound. The focus is on detailed, atmospheric leads, deep underlying bass, and gently textured distortion.
