This lil rough cut has the original concept in mind for the story I'm telling in the song.

GoodBye Song Original by Gustavo Loera

Gustavo Loera (Tavo) is a musician and photographer from Pasadena California and a native of Los Angeles. He has received his BFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Ca. Gustavo, also known to his friends and family as Tavo (short for Gustavo), has always had a love for music. Mostly as a fan, although as a teenager was very interested in the electric guitar and had studied guitar at John Waltrips Music Academy in Arcadia, Ca. And later formed a band called "Kold Turkey" "(inspired by the John Lennon song by the same title)" in his hometown of Monrovia, Ca. He was the bass player and the band was an instrumental rock group. The band later introduce a lead singer, even though, the band disbanded not long after. Gustavo continued to play the bass with other musicians but also continued to work on songs on guitar as well working on lyric writing.  In his mid twenties he also developed a passion and interest for photography, and was encouraged to pursue it and then decided to take college courses in photography and also music (of course). Some where along the line he had to make a decision between the two arts. Being born almost deaf in one ear, it made best sense to continue on with photography as a career goal and keep music as a hobby. He continued to have success in his thirties as a photographer gaining degrees, awards, and other accolades (yet never quite giving up on his passion for music).

In 2006, Gustavo recorded and later (2007) released the single on Beyond Movement Music titled "Jamie the Seer of the Aliens" under the name of Tavo Loera/The Seer.  Doing lead vocals, guitars and bass duties on the recording. It certainly got the creative juices going again musically and artistically. In 2006 Gustavo was awarded a Summer Grant to study at the Academy of Art University. He continued to play music with his friends when he got the chance too, but had to give 100% to his Academy studies. During that time he managed to write and record a few songs that included vocals.  Even getting a chance on working with Josh Schwartz as the producer and engineer on a recording (of "Dark Places", a Gustavo Original). For a brief time he formed a band playing Lead Guitar with two of the former members of "Kold Turkey" (as well as receiving an A.A. in Photography from the Academy of Art in 2009). He called the group "The Occupants" (long before the occupation movemnent). The band had a sound with an accent of ELP and a little heavier. They managed to make a couple recordings before disbanding after a few month. He on and off worked with the rock acoustic/electric band "Soca Noca" which members reside in Southern and Northern California. And later with his Northern Cousin Rick (Ochoa) formed a side project called "Sea of Cortez" in which they recorded live in San Felipe, Mex. with the assistance of his brother Carlos and Rick's brother Jaime (the Seer of the Aliens). Later at the Bee Hive studio in Baldwin Park, he and Rick recorded "Man that Sucks" ( a song written at the sea) and other original songs with Adrian (Coechise) on Drums (Rick Vocals/Guitar, Tavo (Gustavo) Guitar/Vocals). Attending and preforming at the Open Mic Jams at the now closed Brass Elephant, he was once more inspired to create new songs and develop his singing style.  My friends Sean Romin & Jon Ellison were both influences of mine. 

Gustavo graduated from the Academy of Art last Summer (2011) with a BFA in Adverting and Illustration Photography. Since then he's been exploring new startigies with his photography and working with a new client base., Also he continues to write music as Tavo Loera and/or Gustavo Loera and his most recent collaboration of music has depth and spacey sound. He considers his music a form or subset of the Blues. Not traditional sounding Blues, but singing the Blues against Against untraditional blues sounds￼. ,
