Durante más de una década, el dúo de Barcelona ha creado y refinado continuamente un sonido característico inimitable tanto dentro de NX1 como en sus proyectos paralelos Surit y Samot. Si bien no es necesariamente sombrío, hay una vibra impresionante que surge de la abrumadora fisicalidad, que esencialmente culmina en pausas sofisticadas y crescendos en cada una de sus pistas. Aunque NX1 lleva la esencia de la euforia rave, no encontrarás ni el más mínimo indicio de cursi. Y aunque sus sesiones en vivo y de DJ ciertamente incorporan el conocimiento esencial del techno tradicional, el dúo no vuelve a caer en un conservadurismo renovado sino que oscila entre ritmos crudos y momentos psicodélicos. A steadfast stronghold at the forefront of modern and uncompromising techno. For more than a decade the duo from Barcelona has crafted and continuously refined an inimitable signature sound both within NX1 and their side-projects Surit and Samot. While not necessarily somber, there is an awe-inspiring vibe arising from the overwhelming physicality, essentially culminating in sophisticated breaks and crescendos in each of their tracks. Albeit NX1 carries the essence of rave euphoria you won’t find even the slightest hint of cheesiness. And even though their live and DJ sets certainly incorporate the essential knowledge of traditional techno the duo doesn’t fall back into refurbished conservatism but oscillates between raw rhythms and psychedelic moments. The duo has firmly established itself with releases on renowned labels such as Phase Fatale’s „BITE", Sunil Sharpe’s „Earwiggle", Terence Fixmer’s "Planete Rouge" or Bas Moy’s „MORD“ and on their own imprints NX1 and Nexe Rec. which received their preliminary highlight with last year's masterpiece - the album „What You Should Know About Yourself"

The tenth year of the π project revives the label’s Split Series with its third instalment, Split#3 by Unhuman & New Frames.

This is the second appearance on our Various Artists catalog for both Berlin-based acts, featuring individual and collaborative tracks from the artists.

Infamous for their industrial/EBM-leaning techno signature sound, Unhuman (Manos Simotas) and New Frames (Mathis Mootz/The Panacea/Squaremeter and David Frisch) join forces to elevate their production style even further.

Dancefloor killers for heads of diverse tastes, featuring one solo track from each artist per side, along with three complementary collaborative compositions. Side A showcases New Frames’ fresh-sounding crossover of industrial and dubstep with the track “Dubplate,” accompanied by the hard-hitting collaborative stompers “Commander” and “3rd Eye Cataract.”
On the flip side, Unhuman delivers his own broken beat-industrial techno beast, “Cerberus,” while the release concludes with the final collaborative techno track, “New Force.”

Marienus is a Rotterdam-based dj and producer, active as a resident at Operator Radio, one of the flamekeepers of the Public Sex Regime label/collective and the musical component of multidisciplinary performance art collective PLETTIEPOES.
As a dj, he pushes industrial-tinged electronics. Connecting dots between chuggy ebm, dark electro, freaked out noisey experimentalism, leftfield hip-hop and punk influenced music and techno, he throws genre-based restrictions out the window while maintaining a steady flow.

Carmilla Sioux, a DJ and producer based in Barcelona, delves into the realms of dark electronic music, exploring genres such as Dark Wave, EBM, Electro, Industrial, and Dark Techno. With roots as a bassist in Post-Punk bands for over a decade, she swiftly made a name for herself in Barcelona's underground scene before expanding her reach internationally, sharing the lineup with artists such as Filmmaker, Delectro, Void Vision, Petra Flurr, UnHuman, Agent Side Grinder, Puerta Negra, among others. In 2022, Carmilla independently released her debut EP "Witchcraft," and she is currently in the process of creating her second EP titled "Lumina Obscura," mastered and mixed by the producer Nightcrawler and scheduled for release later this year. In addition to her DJ sets and productions, Carmilla has also taken the initiative to organize her own events, “From Hell To Disco,” contributing to the promotion of the scene within Barcelona.

[ STATIQBLOOM ]

Statiqbloom is the brainchild of Fade Kainer. A project that began in 2014 in Brooklyn NYC, later becoming a duo with Denman C. Anderson (2016-2020). Fade was a member of the industrial doom band Batillus, noise synth dread project Theologian, and he has also worked with Jarboe (ex-Swans) and Attila Csihar (Mayhem, SunnO)))).

Currently based in Berlin, he is combining hardware and software in creating noisy modular-engineered industrial techno and building live sets by meshing heavy hard industrialised rhythms with unfolding blackened atmospheres and disorienting vocals.

Statiqbloom has released on Sonic Groove, Metropolis Records, Synthicide and Desire Records.
