The Great Yorkshire Dance Orchestra is an authentic 1920s jazz band, whos entire repertoire consists of transcriptions of original scores and recordings from the art deco era. Playing on vintage instruments of the time, this new ensemble takes a step back to an age where dance halls brimmed with luxury and glamour, and the celebrities were the stars of the silver screen.

The music of award-winning composer Greg Bartholomew is frequently performed across the United States and in Canada, Australia and Europe by such highly regarded instrumental ensembles as Third Angle New Music Ensemble, the Electrum Brass Trio, and the Spring Wind Quintet, as well as such acclaimed choral ensembles as Seattle Pro Musica, Austin Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Connecticut Choral Artists (CONCORA).  NPR classical music reviewer Tom Manoff called Bartholomew “a fine composer not afraid of accessibility.” 

A Finalist for the 2012 American Prize in Choral Composition, Bartholomew served as the 2012/2013 Composer in Residence for the Cascadian Chorale.  

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1957, Bartholomew earned degrees from the College of William &amp; Mary and the University of Washington.  His music is published by ART OF SOUND MUSIC, ARS NOVA PRESS, IMAGINE MUSIC, ORPHEUS MUSIC and BURKE &amp; BAGLEY.

Joplin Parnell is a prominent pianist and vocalist on London’s Jazz and Blues scene and one half of up and coming duo, Such Sweet Thunder. He has lived a life immersed in music having started out at an early age following his piano playing father around New Orleans parades, jam sessions and bars, snare drum in hand whilst days at home were spent receiving a musical education in the back of his mothers audio engineering studio watching her cut records and listening with keen ears. His sets weave a rich tapestry of New Orleans Rhythm & Blues and Brazilian Choro, New York Stride and French Musette with a Tango or two thrown in for good measure drawing influence from the full breadth of his musical heritage and imparting a deep soulful sensibility onto everything he does.
