The SWINGROWERS are on a roll! (Even more so with GYPSY HILL on board!) After the incredible part 1 of their cover version EP entitled; 'DO NOT COVER' featured probably the best ever version of Paolo Conte's VIA CON ME, the Italian trio now follow it up swiftly with this gem of a homage to swing music before they return once again with part 2 of their cover version EP later this summer! Got that?

QUEEN OF SWING also features a collaboration with one of London's finest Balkan Brass outfits, GYPSY HILL whom they met backstage at the RUMPUS club one night and the single is every bit the feel-good, summertime floor-filler one would expect from that heritage. To celebrate the year that was 2014 I am giving away a special remix. I guess Pachakuti was my first ever exposure to Andean music - when I was about 8 years old the group came to do a workshop in my primary school. As it was a bit of something special in my little town in the north of England, we bought the CD. This week I found it just this same gem gathering dust at my parents house and decided to give it a 21st century edit.

Producers DJ Kobayashi and Herbert Newbert have taken the project from studio to stage, gradually growing the band and honing their high-energy live hows. Their burgeoning CV includes remixes for the likes of Balkan Beat Box and Al Jawala and a special feature on Ninja Tune’s acclaimed ‘Ninja Jamm’ app. On the latter appearing alongside electronic music royalty such as Coldcut, Mr Scruff, Bonobo and many more of the Ninja Tunes roster. 
Their much anticipated debut album ‘Our Routes’ hit the shelves in August 2014 and the band are touring throughout the autumn and into  spring 2015. 
A tour history that includes some of the UK and Europe’s biggest festivals (Glastonbury, Bestival, WOMAD, Sziget, Fusion, Winterthurer Musikfestwochen), Gypsy Hill are no strangers to the big stages, having played alongside some of the greats including Taraf De Haidouks.
