As times seem to get rougher and tougher in political terms in the urban jungles of the world, conscious music and cultural activism in general gain in importance. Message music to uplift the people is essential in society.
On this mission, Lion's Den has teamed up with the upcoming producer Blue Hill outta Athens, Greece.
A heavy riddim, somewhere between jungle and dub, outta his mixing lab was given to the mighty Lutan Fyah from Jamaica to create a powerful anthem, calling for action in times of political turmoil - the youths need to "Get Out" of their mental and physical state of badness.
Another vocal on the same riddim was recorded with the Lion's Den MCs Kali Green and konTa outta Berlin, Germany. This wicked combination hits with the same amount of lyrical fire - this time in english and german - and adds to the rebellious mood. A call to "Start A Revolution" and to fight the system full of trickery, downpression and exploitation.
But this is only half of the musical story to be told…
Lutan Fyah's piercing voice and melodies were given to five producers to come up with three strong remixes inna different style: For the first one the US dubstep pioneer Roommate joined forces with the head of the Lion's Den, Ras Lion outta Berlin, Germany, to mix it up inna pumping dub / steppaz fashion. The second remix leaves no doubt about message music reaching the clubs - no matter if 'uptown' or 'downtown': A heavy banger somewhere on the jungle tip, with a west coast breeze, by a brand new collaboration project between US bass music legends Noah D and No Thing (together with Roommate he forms Babylon System) called Lost City JNGL. Last but not least, the third one was done by the great jungle producer FLeCk outta Athens, Greece, and hits hard with some break madness and extra deep bass.

The whole EP was transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality limited and hand-numbered 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK. It is also digitally available.

Born On Road return with another great FREE release, this time from dubwize breaks master Jinx In Dub! For this release Jinx In Dub teams up with MC Turner from Prague.

High and Low kicks off with a slow skank before the voice of Turner starts to creep into to range, everything cuts back before the bass drops and the journey begins. We’re treated to some amazing horns from the well known Sheffield reggae act Bison and a very dubby drop. As you would expect from Jinx In Dub he masters a great drum work out which would set off any dance floor off.

As if that wasn’t enough we have also commissioned two killer remixes from Jungle dons and some of Born On Road’s founders, Gold Dubs & Aries.

Gold Dubs drops a great 140BPM dance floor jungle rework with chopped up amens & chest shattering 808s while Aries ups the tempo to 175BPM and gives it his dubwise midas touch rounding this package off nicely!

First official remix I ever made about 2 years ago finally being released to public and what an honour it was to remix one of my favourite songs of that year.  The Hippy told me he conceived this song whilst lying in bed, awake, listening to the anarchy going on outside his window that was the 2011 London riots.  Infuriated by Cameron's bullshit response to the fiasco... blaming it purely on juvenile disobedience rather than acknowledging the social unhappiness of youths that it clearly demonstrated, he challenged Cameron's words.  Here we are in 2016, and despite the event being 5 years ago it all still feels VERY relevant. 

Being released this friday(20/5)via bandcamp, coinciding with us both playing Golden Lion in Bristol... its going to be a banger, come get involved...

The summer is nearly here and tingz are heating up! Not weather-wise (come on, this is the UK!) but at the Run Tingz Bristol HQ. 

Having blazed into 2013 with distinction – four massive releases, three new label signees, parties across the UK, an exclusive signing to the on-point Boom agency – the Cru now pull the biggest rewind of their lives and take us on a trip back to 2010/11 with their most comprehensive dispatch to date… 

With over three years of unique contemporary Jungle locked up in the bullet proof Run Tingz vault, they thought it high time they revisited the first four releases and the tracks that started their epic journey. Giving the parts to a select team of all-star remixers, the result is a sun-soaked package of seismic soundclash proportions.

‘Jungle Champion’ leads. Run Tingz debut label release, they’ve given new signing J.Man the duties and he’s done them justice. Giving Blackout’s throaty patter centre stage on the well known ‘Real Rock” riddim, J strips the vibe back to a classic Jungle sub n’ skank approach giving it an instant timeless vibe.

Serial Killaz follow. Taking the Run Tingz anthem ‘Born Inna Babylon’ to a much deeper pasture with a softer swing and more emphasis on the iconic horn riff, once again they show why they’re the remixer of choice for many of the Jungle scene’s influential figures. Whaooooh!

Up next, Northern Lights’ take on the infamous ‘Informer’, a track so naughty they got Albert Square’s finest to front the video. With playful treatment of the Golden Hen, Steppa and Kitcha lull you into a false sense of security. Then BANG: when that bass drops, you’ll know all about it!

‘Sweet Sunshine’, meanwhile, has been expertly reworked another recent signing, Dossa. Complementing the sunny-side vibes of the original while adding his own party twist, the bass bubbles with a distinctive fuzzy, buzzy distorted funk that just won’t quit. 

Tenerife-based Ricky Tuff closes the show with his remix of ‘I Got Love’. Warming the blend with deeper subs, skippier riddim work and punctual bass, it’s yet another fine complement to the stunning vibes of the original and introduces the last in the hat trick of signings in true style.

Five key cuts that have helped shape the distinctive Run Tingz sound. Five fully charged festival shakers, primed and ready for sunny season and beyond. The summer is nearly here and our playlists are heating up!
