RPG is a rapper, songwriter, and producer known for his playful style of conscious rap that raises social awareness and imparts wisdom.

Before he spat bars that grab your attention, he used to whisper quietly as Chang Huo-Ning in the liner notes of albums, by singers such as award-winning superdiva A-Mei Chang (張惠妹), where he plays the wordsmith. 

Fast-forward to 2017, a new character is born begins as he joins hip-hop label RoboKatZ, sidelining with artists such as Trout Fresh, NEOSO, and producer Felipe.Z. With the assist from like-minded talents, RPG was able to incorporate R&B, jazz, and fresh elements into his first studio album FHXY (風花雪月) in 2020.

While RPG’s powers centered on underground cyphers, old school boom-baps, and lyrical contemplations, the rapper has also expanded his glow on the radar with behind-the-scene works in music videos, advertising, and even podcasting. 

Hip Hop Community Center (HHCC 喇街頭) is RPG’s another effort in podcast format that extends a hip-hop narrative through conversations and dialogues, where he has cohosted with RĒD° since 2020. The two has also collaborated on single “So In Love With You” that flips an iconic sample from iconic ‘80s pop vocalist Michelle Pan (潘越雲).  

RPG unconsciously put himself through a game of role-playing that’s brought him across almost every stage of the Taiwan hip-hop scene. While his lyrics, mentality, and down-to-earth personality makes his character solid, he constantly hones, enhances, and refines his storytelling technique until the outcome is VVS studded.


來自台南的饒舌歌手「RPG」，以犀利的本格派饒舌在華語嘻哈圈內闖出名號，藝名是源自高中時期，在課堂上表演饒舌歌曲時被老師聽見，老師無心的一句「Wow, we got a rap guy here!」當時的他即以「MC Rapguy」為藝名開始發表創作，後來發現「Rapguy」太多人不會唸，於是有了重新設定藝名的想法，所以決定把藝名簡化成「RaPGuy」的縮寫「RPG」，同時也象徵攻擊力強大的「肩射式火箭彈」（RPG, Rocket-Propelled Grenade）以及代表多重角色設定的「角色扮演遊戲」（RPG, Role Play Game），最後以縮寫「RPG」作為正式藝名。

RPG的嘻哈音樂路上也不負「角色扮演遊戲」的設定，可謂真正的全能創作多面手，從老學校（old school）到新學校（new school），從boom bap到trap，從乘載知識與資訊的意識派饒舌（conscious rap）到描繪感情的嘻哈情歌，從本格派的饒舌唱法到加入旋律的饒唱風格都能駕馭，細膩的歌詞往往能夠在字裡行間建構場景，讓聽眾更容易進入他刻畫的故事裡。

也因為這樣的創作特質，RPG除了曾參與創作並演出多首破百萬點擊的饒舌作品受華語嘻哈圈的歌迷喜愛，幕後更以歌詞作者身份與張惠妹、戴愛玲、朱俐靜、 Kimberley 陳芳語、邱鋒澤...等歌手合作，是一位橫跨主流樂壇及嘻哈音樂的雙刀流創作職人。

加入獨立音樂廠牌 ROBOKATZ後 ，RPG陸續推出多首單曲，包括與茄子蛋合作的《浪子的路》、與NEOSO戴岑樺合作的《黑人問號.jpg》、「龍虎門」港台企劃《隻手遮天》以及與Julia Wu 吳卓源合作的《台北夜空下 Remix》、全網突破千萬流量的專輯《風花雪月》、EP《 P.L.U.R.》等作品，逐漸受到更多關注。
