Before I knew what was what and who was behind the records, I had put together a hit list that in later years I realised was tied together with that Parsons genius. This mix collects together everything from solo productions, co-produced tunes through to tracks engineered by or mixed by the man himself. Pete always brought that buy on sight quality with the added extra magic and depth. I was chatting with Remedee about what makes his productions call out the goosebumps and Connor hit the nail on the head "It's emotion". Alongside that key ingredient, everything comes with a big ol heaped spoon of creativity and always the quality production. As a bonus its generally dj friendly arrangement (except maybe Rythm Process lol). Anyways respect to the grand master, the daddy don - thank you for doing it right 🙏🏻

CALM DOWN / spiritual jazz

God made me funky, and i'm glad he blessed me that way

Na jaren van muziek verzamelen vnl. house (ook early hardcore ;-), breakbeat & hip hop werden deze vondsten met LIEFDE gedeeld op fuiven en later in de locale jeugdsoos. Ergens in 1999 hoorde ik voor het eerst UKG en werd verliefd:  Dikke Bass lines, Dope MC’s & Soulful vocalen. Na het meermaals zien draaien van o.a DJ Flakes + G-Double-E wilde ik ook zo'n vibe op een dansvloer kunnen creëren. Hun sets waren surprising en liefhebbers gingen los met een BIG smile, puur genieten. Nadat enig vinyl verzameld was en geld voor Technics en een mixer werd UKG too grimey for me. Het diggen naar pre-2003 UKG werd hierdoor lang een fixatie...... Na het experimenteren met enkele andere stijlen (oa. Nu Skool Breakz/ElectroBass...) en digitaal mixen kwam ik uiteindelijk door me schatje rond 2010 via UK Bass terug bij House en groeide ook de sterke liefde voor Garage & Gospel House. House en zijn prachtige diversiteit was niet verdwenen, moest gewoon anders en vnl dieper graven. Tussendoor kwam Disco’s sweet revival met housey edits & dope nieuwe boogie’s die garant staan voor good vibes op de dansvloer.
