Es zeichnet sich durch eine bunte Mischung aus elektronischer Musik, Kunst, Workshops und interaktiven Erlebnissen aus. Die Veranstaltung bietet eine einzigartige Atmosphäre, die sich durch Naturverbundenheit, Kreativität und Nachhaltigkeit auszeichnet. Neben den Musikbühnen gibt es auch Bereiche für Theater, Vorträge und Yoga.

It's taken us a little while to fully process what happened on Sunday but now we've had the time to recover from the madness that is Fusion Festival (you too, we hope??) we're realising just how much this gig meant to us and how happy we are with how it all went. Thank you to everyone who was there, who waited the extra 40 minutes while we battled with some technical difficulties, who cheered, sang our lyrics (wait, what?!) and danced with us. You were so supportive and after the first couple of songs the nervousness was almost gone and we could just enjoy sharing what we love together with you all. THANK YOU! You peeps are just great. <3

So, without further ado, here's our live set on the Velvet Soup stage at Fusion on Sunday night. Unfortunately the quality of the recording isn't great (where's the bass?!?), and we actually had to re-record a couple of parts at home due to an issue with the accordion microphone picking up the sound coming from the speakers, but we tried our best to play it exactly like we did on the night and blend it in smoothly with the original recording.  We are proud and happy and we hope you like it!

Hui ui ui! Das war ein wilder und mega krasser Ritt! Danke an alle die da waren und mich durch den Abend getragen haben.

Und jetzt mal Butter bei die Fische: Die Aufnahme besteht aus mehreren Teilen, die ich zusammengepuzzelt habe. Das Aufnahmegerät war zwischenzeitlich aus. Ein kleines mittleres Stück musste ich also nochmal aufnehmen. Am Ende steckte wieder ein drin - et voila, die Aufnahme ging weiter.
Da es - vor allem in der ersten halben Stunde - zu krassen, krassen Technikproblemen kam, seht es mir nach, dass ich mich erstmal eingrooven musste und meine Panik erst abgeschaltet wurde, nachdem jemand die Player gelinkt hatte. Ich sage euch: das war Abenteuer pur :D

Ich habe artig das Publikum mitaufgenommen, aber beschlossen, dass nur die zwei letzten Track mit diesem zu hören ist. Die Aufnahme wäre sonst zu verwaschen gewesen. Ich denke aber, dass auch so die Stimmung einigermaßen rüberkommt. Hehe.

Sehr durchwachsen, aber überwiegend positiv. Von energiegeladenen Nächten und viel Freude am Auflegen bis zu leider auch sexistischen Äußerungen gegenüber FLINTA* Personen war alles dabei.

Was ist dir an einem Safespace wichtig?
Mir ist wichtig, dass ein unausgesprochener Konsens über den Umgang miteinander herrscht, sodass sich alle wohlfühlen können.

Möchtest du gerne der Welt noch was sagen oder mitgeben?
Ich bin sehr dankbar, dass es so viele tolle Initiativen wie femquency gibt, die FLINTA* Personen supporten und damit ein starkes Zeichen setzen, was sich in der Szene verändern sollte!

In preparation for my Feminist Fight Day gig at Sisy, I took a dive into the swamp of 7 years of wisdom handed down to me. Unasked, of course.

"Give it your all, but don't be too much. Please the crowd, don't challenge them. But don't be boring either. Melodic house is not my thing, I like it straight and hard (pehehe, if you know what I mean). Now it's too dark. I expected you to play softer, I expected you to play feminine. Less vocals. No, more vocals, we want to sing along. Too much breakbeat. Too colourful. OMG definitely don't be artsy. No one books the artsy girl. Hey, you should listen to that one male DJ, he plays nice bangers. But not too many bangers. Can you play that banger again? Speaking of bangers, who did you bang that you're allowed to play here? Haha, just joking, but no for real, who? Why aren't you wearing a bra? Why are you wearing a bra? Show what you've got. But also be a feminist. Be hot AND political. Speak up... but not against my boy, he didn't mean it that way, you misunderstood. Stand up for other women... but not for those women, they are trouble, you don't want to be blacklisted. Please don't get drunk backstage again. Be more professional. Why are you so serious? Smile! :) Why are you so angry?"

I am angry. A really angry woman. I've decided to let it out more. And I'm learning to ignore those voices. Let them. Fuck it.

Die Liebe zur Musik war schon immer ein Teil von mir. Aufgewachsen im vielfältigen Berliner Soundkosmos, geprägt von bunten Einflüssen und globalen Klangwelten – Afro, Latin, nordafrikanische Rhythmen, Balkan-Beats – war ich schon früh fasziniert von der Kraft musikalischer Vielfalt. Diese Leidenschaft hat mich schließlich vor etwa drei Jahren ans DJ-Pult geführt – mit dem Wunsch, globale Melodien und pulsierende Rhythmen in meine Sets einfließen zu lassen.

Ein entscheidender Wendepunkt war ein Femquency-Workshop in der Beate Uwe, einem meiner Herzensorte. Dort entstand nicht nur meine erste echte Verbindung zum Auflegen, sondern auch ein tiefes Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit. Besonders durch weitere FLINTA*-Workshops und Open Decks habe ich schnell Fuß gefasst – getragen von gegenseitiger Unterstützung, Vertrauen und einem starken Netzwerk.

Das Auflegen fordert mich immer wieder heraus – im besten Sinne. Es bringt mich an meine Grenzen, aber vor allem darüber hinaus. Ich wachse mit jedem Set, entwickle ein stärkeres Selbstbewusstsein und eine tiefere Verbindung zu mir selbst.
Ende 2023 entstand aus dem Femquency-Workshop heraus unser DJ-Kollektiv Velvet Kitchen. Seitdem gestalten wir nicht nur Musik, sondern auch eigene Events – mit dem Ziel, Räume zu schaffen, in denen sich Vielfalt, Empowerment und globale Sounds begegnen dürfen.

Was ist dir an einem Safespace wichtig?
Zugehörigkeit, gegenseitige Unterstützung, wo unterschiedliche kulturelle Identitäten willkommen sind, ein Ort wo mensch ohne Angst vor Bewertung experimentieren kann, sich selbst neu entdecken dürfen

Haana Peony (she/her) creates diverse indie-dance soundscapes with a clear message: music is political. She uses her sets to raise awareness, foster equality and open conversations—especially around menstruation. As part of the collectives FEMQUENCY and PLANET DISBLUTHEK, she combines her skills as a teacher and DJ to promote empowerment, self-determination, and visibility.
