Having made a name for themselves with their tribal and afro influenced original work and remixes, lately Armonica have been demonstrating their reimagined selves through an intrinsically analog and synthesizer dominated sound. With ‘Alternatives to Speech’, they adopt 80’s impassioned chord progressions and the melodic electronic music zeitgeist as their aesthetic, but between the bars, the Italian duo explores the human voice and the different emotive implications that emerge through the different production and mixing techniques used by the producers of the tracks. ‘Like a piano’s ebony and ivory’ as they say so well.
