Klaws mix recorded live @ Welcome to Pangea XVI festival, opening for Josh Wink on Saturday night. I played a grooved out techno and minimal dubbed-out set accompanied by the hypnotic sounds of Phluter Phill performing live flute. 

It was a stellar night with a packed electrical dancefloor getting down to the techno rhythms under the summer skies.

This is a mix I managed to extract from one remaining copy of a cd I still had. This CD was in pretty rough shape, and the process to get it onto this soundcloud page was more taxing then I realized it was going to be. In the end, my will to preserve the mix proved greater than the obstacles to doing so, so here it is.  The first track on the mix is plagued by some staticy-ticks that lose intensity as we get into the first breakdown of that first track. If you can bear with that, its ok from there.

If you asked me then who "influenced this mix," I would have dropped some pretty predictable Global Underground names. But, the truth is, my biggest influences were those closest to me. Damian, Rojas, Dao, Omar, Peter, the Whites , Josh, Bob, Arthur, Hypatia, Bryon, Chris...all these local djs who watered our local Reading soil over the last 20 plus years. I have enjoyed the journey immensely...here is a mix from the beginning.

This was put together sometime in 2000 on two tech 12's and a Pioneer DJM500.

Welcome to the second installment of the Local Underground RDG Series which aims to spotlight underground dance mixes from Reading, Pennsylvania. Here is a nostalgic slice of 2000-2001 house, tech house, progressive, and tribal vibes. This mix features classic cuts from Peace Division, Sharem Jey, and, of course, some killer tracks from Hooj Choons. This mix was put together on two Technics 1200s and a Pioneer DJM 500 on Walnut St by City Park where the Digital Movement crew then resided.

This weekend I'm super excited to play my first show in a new club in San Antonio called Maeve.  It's a little over an hour away, and they have been really bringing a fresh experience to the San Antonio nightlife scene with strong support for underground music in a really lovely space that's been a true labor of love, so congrats to Zach, Clint, and the rest of the Maeve team for bringing their dreams to life!  I'll be playing a ton of melodic and progressive music there as part of my Flow ATX project along with partner in crime DJ Seldonite, so if you're in the area I hope to see you there this Saturday night!
