Though there are many ways to divide people in this world there is still a certain bond that connects us as humans regardless of race or class and bring that out in my music. I believe that we live with blinders on and value things in life that really have no meaning while ignoring the things that do. I appreciate life and love as well as adversity and negativity, each being a tool we can use to better ourselves. My music is a reflection of the life I'm trying to make better and the world I want to change.

Combining a propensity for 80’s gothic rock such as The Cult and TSOL, along with an art punk aesthetic borrowed from bands like Gang of Four and Dead Kennedys, The Voltage Drop is a project formed in late 2013 by Lafayette, LA musician Eugene Swank (The Deads, The Eugene Swank Atomic Honky Tonk) and Houston locals Ken Shoen (The Kimonos, Neutronic) and Josh Barry (Jealous Creatures, Japanic).
