Falling On Deaf Ears

A song about the events surrounding our mother's suicide. My brother was five years old, I was still a baby.

I wrote this poem in 2017. The original poem is written in Dutch and won a prize in the Denkraam poetry competition. It was published in the poetry collection "Diepte."

Das ist für Dich - mein Freund

Manchmal braucht es keine großen Worte, um verstanden zu werden.
„Ein Stück von Dir“ ist ein stilles Gespräch zwischen zwei Menschen, die dieselbe Sprache fühlen – ehrlich, direkt und ohne Maske.
Es ist der Moment, in dem Dankbarkeit und Vertrauen ineinanderfließen.
Ein Lied über Freundschaft, Resonanz und die Gewissheit, dass die Stärke des anderen auch in einem selbst weiterlebt.
Kein Abschied, kein Pathos – nur Wahrheit.
Ein stilles Nicken zwischen Seelen, die wissen, dass sie sich gefunden haben.
