When it comes to artistry Hakeem Poet is a gift from god. Based out of Minneapolis, MN he made his name as a Mc, Spoken Word Poet, Music Producer, Battle Rapper, and Videographer. On a more personal note he is known as an active Father, role model, and voice in his community. Poised, strategic, and focused he has the potential to become a future pillar in the music industry. Soulful hooks, sharp lyrics, and musicality is what brought him to the forefront, and will keep him here for years to come. His career started in 2005 at MusicTech in St.Paul,Mn. There he studied music production, music theory, and performance. Also, that was the same year his group Floreal was founded. Consisting of Lady X, DunnDeal, Jay Duce, Emoore, and Hakeem Poet. They made their names at various open Mic's throughout the city Performing Hits like "Watch My Spaceship", "Perfume", and "My City". This experience with the group molded Hakeem in many positive ways, mainly in the field of artist development. In 2008 was the year that Hakeem acquired his first pieces of production equipment; which was a Motif Xs6, and an I Mac Desktop computer. Since then he has produced music for various artists in the city such as Solo Star, Rxmedy, Newz Ward just to name a few. Many of the artists who work with him say that his ability to bring out the best in them is why they continue work with him. From a rapper wannabe,to a Hip Hop Scientist, is the best way to describe Hakeem. And this is only the beginning.
