This is a sublime mix of trippy, groovy, dubby house/techno perfection from a male & female duo from Perm, Russia. Welcome back to S.Aers, who did a B2B mix with hometown buddy and legendary digger/DJ Alex Volar (link below) for number 186 - and under his wing here be Kris K - a newcomer to the DJ'ing world and this weird little niche of music we seem to co-inhabit. This is such a wicked session, we got it sent over in the midst of the December surge (Avenue Red was sent 16 perfect mixes in 2 days! Vae Victis 2.0 combines the dreamy oldschool vibes with contemporary twists. Luvless knows, how to do it! 
Tilman teaches us how to fly. His Atmospheric Mix of Marc Brauners „The Feeling“ is a 90s shaker and takes you straight to the stars - What a feeling, what a rocket!

 The A-Side ends with a solid groover. Soela teams up with her partner in crime Module One. They deliver a classy interpretation of Max Taelers „Running“. You like it deep? - this one is for you! 
On the flip side waits for you Eddie C. He maximized the Funkyness of „Heads Up High“ without losing sight of its origins. King Eddie does royal things! 
 Last but not least Denyl Brooks interpretation of Shakas „Overminded“ is a peak time dance floor shaper. This belter goes in the ears, stays in the legs - for sure!

AN AFRO DANCE MANIFESTO: LISTEN TO LEN LEISE’S NEW VINYL-ONLY MIX

Beginning his 2015 with a self-released edits EP that immediately sent the ‘wants’ to ‘haves’ on Discogs into the stratosphere, Melbourne-based record collector and producer Len Leise has dropped a stunning 75-minute “afro dance” manifesto for our latest vinyl-only mix.

With his new mini-LP Lingua Franca on International Feel catapulting him to the top of every Balearic head’s End Of Year list, this new mix digs around the roots of the record in a little more detail, pulling out the Nigerian boogie bombs and odd-ball fashion funk 12″s that never leave his record bag.

Assembled from the rare (he was willing to swap a copy of his coveted Edits to get hold of one) and the not so rare, it’s a journey that reflects the wanderings of Lingua Franca, taking you down river on a raft of shimmering synths and percussive grooves.

One side of Lingua Franca was heavily influenced buy the afro disco and funk that I regularly DJ out. It happens a lot that what I DJ in turn comes back into my music in some subtle way. So this being a more uptempo mix is more of a representation of what it’s like to hear me DJ out, the tracks I love to play whilst paying homage to some of the tracks that helped shape and inspire Lingua Franca. Particularly the B-side.

Number 018 is a collaboration between Christopher Rau & Hakim Murphy. During the many times that they have met, the topic of politics always came up in conversation. With all the problems in the world, the title of the 12” was formed: Geopolitical Problems Yet to be Solved. This four track EP symbolizes the differences of the world culture’s with its diverse track selection. Liquid synths, bouncing percussion, and variety of feels really describe this project. The problems of the world will never be solved but this is their take on what the problems sound like.
