Disquiet Junto Project 0564: Octave Lept
The Assignment: Work an octave leap — or more than one — into a piece of music.

I used a track on which I was already working on and added automatic tools to randomly add or substract up to two octaves to all tracks. The probability was chosen so that the octave jumps should go unnoticed.

Sudden Jumps, Not Too Hefty [disquiet0564]

I took a few seconds from something I was listening to and stretched it out to this length. Then it was duplicated. Using Sliding Stretch, one track was made to drop an octave over its length; the other to rise an octave. So, by the end they are 2 octaves apart. End of experiment  (with an enhanced mix of both tracks added and down-pitched an octave, of course).

Looper remains inspired by the Grateful Dead's "Scarlet Begonias" sounded like riffs from "Dancin' in the Streets" . . .

Then Oh and Tree pulled out some vintage lines and beats, which later sounded reminiscent of Joe Jackson's 1982 hit, "Steppin' Out"!

The album title "Public void Trance (Love)" means the title of the album expressed as a command to declare a function, and transformation means declaring a function that acts as Love in a global variable.
