Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, our mix series showcasing amazing artists from around the world. For the 184th edition, we bring you a mix from Katharine https://soundcloud.com/katharine-motiontheory

Katharine’s sessions are first choice for friends all around the world in need of deep and warm minimal depths. She has been influencing dance floors in Australia with her sideways West Coast house music since 1999, and ran eight years of huge Saturday nights at Australia’s Gold Coast bar Elsewhere alongside Ben Abrahams.  Together, with Jules David, they run their label and party series - Motion:Theory: Music. 

She also just launched Selekt Sessions, where she and Rupert Wall of Brooklyn showcase minimal artists they recognise as scene pioneers. 

Katharine has mixed for Romanian minimal collectives for the last ten years, and is followed by lovers of that micro-sound. She released over 20 mixes last year alone for minimal appreciating labels, including experimental heartfelt ambient journeys on Satya Records, Miromu & the 333Flow series, many of these are all vinyl.  Katharine just played a three hour vinyl set for the Breakfast Club, mixed for Skylab Radio at the Music Room, and now has a monthly residency at FiftyFive Bar in the city, where she plays records for 5 hours.

You can also find her at Killing Time where they have thrown parties for a decade. She might be opening, closing, or supporting an artist like Silat Beksi. It's all about vibration:appreciation: it's lush minimal for the dancefloor.
