The second release on Works Records comes from Footwork / Juke legend Traxman. A pioneer of the Chicago sound from his early days on Dance Mania records, Traxman is responsible for some of the scenes most iconic tracks, such as Footworkin On Air, Lifeeeee Is For Ever, Pacman Juke, and Blow Your Whistle. His releases on Planet Mu, Ghettophiles and Moveltraxx, as well as his constant stream of self releases have given way to some of the best music the genre has to offer.

Da Look EP is an ode to the many influences that composite the musical landscape of Chicago. The title track, Da Look, is a woozy Footwork take on a washed out funk melody. Fuk Um Up Bad is an aggressive battle jam, and 1992 draws from into the raw distorted sound of the early ghetto house scene. Finally, Woo War, takes the listener back to the days before house existed, whilst looking firmly toward the future.

Next up for the pod and rolling into the 60's we have the highly esteemed, Lagoon Femshayma!
A member of one of our favourite collectives too, Prestige Pak, we're so happy to welcome Lagoon to the pod. For this one, he's packed some serious nrg, recorded live at Fabric when PP took over room 3 for Sherelle. Club edit galore, it's a serious vibe, dig in. 
We also caught up with LF for a little chat, read below! 

AM: Hey Zooey! What have you been up to recently? 

Z: Hi there!! I’ve been trying to swerve the January blues as best I can tbh, mostly by watching The Real Housewives of Jersey and the new Gossip Girl! 

AM: The mix was obviously recorded at Fabric (It’s amazing btw) - How was the night? 

Z: Thank you! It was so much fun and honestly to be with so many people who we started with like Dobbs and Sherelle meant a lot! Considering we started in nightlife together in 2017 it feels amazing that we got to play! 

AM: What have you been digging & listening to recently?

Z: I’ve been obsessed with an edit of Be Your Girl by a producer called DJ Beverage atm, and no matter where I play it the reaction is always fab! I really liked Dijon’s last release at the end of last year, and ANZ’s ‘You Could Be’ was the soundtrack of the trip I took to Ibiza with the rest of the crew for my birthday in September! 

AM: We’re massive fans of Prestige Pak, tell us a little bit about the collective and what can we expect from PP and also yourself in 2022? 

Z: I’m hoping for a big year for the girlies! More nights and gigs for sure, and we loved providing the music and doing the takeover for Dazed Live  in October, so hopefully we can do more of that!  We’d also love to do a trip to the states, so hopefully New York is on the cards in the spring!!!

Team GB returns to Aeronema to follow-up last years 'Clouds Ahead EP' with a full length release. Cold Vacuum comprises of 8 journeys through the world of 160-170 bpm beats, ranging from the ethereal dreaminess of 'Not Seen Daylight' through to the darkness of the title track that we premiere here for you today.
Team GB and Aeronema will be donating all of the proceeds from this release (out 7 April on Bandcamp) to charities helping the Ukrainiuan humanitarian efforts.
