This track was originally written from deep within a smoky dark concrete basement somewhere in the least glamorous building in the ancient city of Jaffa. My bed, lamp and dusty soundsystem were surrounded by tall dusty walls made up of thick concrete and many metres of dense earth behind. Although many others lived to the sides, we all shared one long dense, earth-facing wall.

There wasn't a single window to the outside world. Nor was the outside world behind any of the four walls of my room. 

A small printed picture of a very uninteresting tree on a sidewalk was hung up, high in a dark corner of the cell, on the coldest wall; the wall with nothing more than endless metres of earth behind.

Inspired by the sounds of my own curious daydreams (could have been night, I guess..), the cold earth itself, and the dark cackles and constantly shifting glasses of the lost souls playing cards in the next room.

From all this... somehow... the basement dribble riddim was born. 

Then buried. 

Then dug up more than 5-6 years later, and published here untouched ever since. 

- If only I could say the same about the world we live in. 

Just like our loved ones still stuck in dark places must know all too well by now:
"Without any light, we must make our own."

Basement Dribble

In the years that followed, now parked four flights above sea-level; some natural light reached my bedside. For a few months there my room was the one converted from an old balcony where the 'walls' practically margined the bed itself. A room which later became home to not one, but seven cats. 

It might be quite obvious, but even at this time, many of the odd and perhaps even interesting curiosities found in my mind still remained.

This track carries the perpetual motion of these strange yet fruitful times; saturated with foreign energies and mastering the mysterious art of simply choosing to be human - in an inspiring far away land.

One where I still find myself today.

Fresh Perspectives

This is a small one-take little demo of the first thing I've put together in 2025, and also first piece I've started with this sweet little Yamaha composer (the 'gameboy').

Made in the late hours when my music gear had a long awaited reunion, met the 'gameboy' for the first time & partied quietly alone but together for the first time in a quite while!

Listening to this piece should send you on a short euphoric mission from one hypothetical existence to another, and back again. Even I won't know where you've been. I hope you enjoy the journey! 

Moments Between Thoughts

This short piece was lost in the digs for almost exactly 6 years.

It reflects our intuitions and feelings, in a beautiful, simple and curious time, where it was easier to feel positive about our own emotions. There was a seemingly seamless chaotic routine in our diverse little interconnected beachside neighbourhood, and I feel for just a minute, we somehow captured the majestic energy we shared with each other and the ever-still inspiring community around us.

Here can be heard the emotional, expressive and dynamic tones and rhythms of Shani Zadunaisky: on saxophone and drums, mixed and accompanied by Josh Fooks (HAMANOF): on bass and keys. Without any change or polish at all since it was spontaneously recorded and arranged in March 2019. 

In addition, much inspiration and contribution of talent to the magic was made by Ran Kantarovich, all in our treetop palace on the 'sdera' in Yafo: both in this era and also to this short, never-to-be-finished piece.

Lifted [2024 - TASTER]

This is just one short call of The Curious Street Egret. 

- A piece recorded in our humble sanctuary above the treetops in Yafo in 2019, and stashed away ever since.

The energy carried by this track was inspired by the curious behaviour of the big, white, long-legged, long-necked Egret (a type of waterbird), that used to frequent the trash, navigating between countless street cats and other strange man made obstacles in an incredible, yet curious feat: for a creature of such grace. 

Unfortunately, the finished piece is mixed so cumbersomely it can't possibly be published until it has had some loving. But in reality, all the magic comes from Shani Zadunaisky's emotive sax lines, and what you hear here is certainly one of them. 

The final track includes many, and this curious call in particular may or may not even feature. :)

The Curious Street Egret [TWENTY-NINETEEN - TASTER]

A sssslllloooowwwweeeeddd down taste of my favourite unpublished piece from 2024.
This track captures the still somewhat organised chaos and despair that emerged in my world, and most certainly in the ever-so-near world around me since these times. 

Naturally, I connect much more to this slowed down (70%) version at the moment, and will save the high-stress, heart-beat grooves for when the the world around has calmed; at least a little more than it has by now.... 

At the time of writing this, I, and my people share a deep and united suffering; which we hope to first and foremost return from, recover and heal from, together with our region, in the very nearing future.

And therefore, I hope to publish the groovier piece some better time soon.

The soundtrack of my mind, from perhaps a little more recently than most of what can be heard here.

Each week, one stashed creation from the last 7 or so years will be uploaded here. Saving the best for last. [2025]

The tracks heard here and on other platforms are the life works of a young musician, who left his far away homeland for an ever-so-sunny spot on the coast in the Middle East; with nothing more than a bag of scrubby clothes and an old laptop for making beats. 

Seven years and many fresh tracks, collaborations and other interesting life projects later, he decided to publish everything online... 

It will be/was drip fed here alongside other new creations: week after week, throughout 2025.
