"Try Remix" Justy & C.Gold ft. Kiraly Payne

“Brighter Days” shows the other side of my album ELECTRIC. While there’s a lot of blues and rock and roll throughout the album, there is also a lot of soul and this new single really lives in that world. It was influenced by Al Green, STAX and all that classic soul music that makes you feel something. 


I felt very vulnerable and honest when I was writing “Brighter Days”. Lyrically, I played on these themes of when you feel like it’s all just slipping away and you’re longing for better times. 


The band and I recorded it at the end of the first day of recording at East West in Hollywood, CA and it ended up being the one and only take of the song. The next day, we intended to record it again but as we listened back we felt like it had the perfect feel and relaxed groove that really captured the essence of the song. I was very fortunate to have Jessy Greene put beautiful strings on it as well which really took the arrangement to another level. 


Overall, I hope “Brighter Days” is a song that gives whoever's listening to it a bit of hope.

Chain Wallet is the sound of dreamy mythologies presented in widescreen, while simultaneously nodding back to an era where everything was in four-by-three. Picking up where the hazy, melancholic and undeniably catchy debut left off, the band now returns with a lusher – and at the same time, more eerie – sound.

While Chain Wallet’s first album was dreamed up in their rainy hometown of Bergen, the sophomore effort No Ritual found them emerging to a small cabin on a remote beach in the southwest of Norway. Here, among surfers – and while walking the beaches – they found out what kind of album they were going to make. 

While you still can catch a glimpse of Mary Chain here or Johnny Marr there, Chain Wallet are really establishing their own musical identity with No Ritual. Playing an important part in expanding the band’s sound on this record is Chiara Cavallari of the psychedelic shoegaze band FOAMMM. The guys say: “We had been wanting to collaborate with Chiara for a long time, and her ethereal presence is fortunately scattered all over the album.”

Both of Chain Wallet’s albums have followed loose and murky storylines about a conflicted protagonist. Where the first album revolved around themes like unresolved ambition and attempts of letting go of the past, No Ritual finds our anti-hero in state of spiritual limbo, while reaching out and trying to establish new symbolic meanings. The album is a post-apocalyptic dive into the mythical life of the millennial mind.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Hamish Anderson is a singer/songwriter, and guitarist whose raw blend of blues, rock & roll, and soul earned him the title of “guitar hero” from Billboard Magazine. Anderson solidified a worldwide presence touring and performing opening sets with artists such as Gary Clark Jr, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Stephen Stills, Los Lobos, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and a coveted slot as the opener on B. B. King’s final tour. His relentless gigging schedule also saw him performing at festivals including BottleRock, Mountain Jam, Summerfest, SXSW, Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, Blues on Broadbeach and more. 

Anderson commanded the attention of the blues and rock world with his debut album Trouble and built upon that with his 2019 follow-up album Out of My Head  (which scored an Independent Music Award for “Best Blues Album” and saw him heralded in Total Guitar's Top 10 Best New Guitarists list). Both releases saw Anderson team up with Grammy winning producer Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Tedeschi Trucks Band) and blended the traditional language of the blues with his own heartfelt compositions and classic rock stylings. 

His new album titled ELECTRIC (released in October 2024) is Anderson’s most complete and mature artistic statement to date. ROLLING STONE AUSTRALIA has given the musician's third studio album an incredible 4/5 stars in a glowing review that states “Hamish Anderson Has Reached A New Level of Musicality and Rollicking Bravado". Sonic gems like “You’re Mine” and “Late in the Evening” show Anderson expressing his unique voice as a writer while also paying fuzzed-out homage to the understated blues rock licks of The Faces, T-Rex, and Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac. The buoyant and catchy “Stir Crazy” finds him grooving in the vein of early ’80s ZZ Top, while the slow smoldering “Brighter Days” suggests a hip remodeling of a classic Curtis Mayfield- or Al Green-styled ballad. On “Pale Moonlight Interlude/Steal Away” Anderson showcases his lyrical and sublime Clapton-esque lead guitar chops, while the raw and driving swamp rock cover of “It Ain’t Easy” sounds like it could easily be a lost track from Exile on Main Street. The cathartic “Strangers” takes a swaying Dylan-inspired break-up lament and kicks it into high gear with an extended instrumental ride-out that captures the band firing on all cylinders; Electric’s penultimate moment, it gives way to the hauntingly beautiful album closer “Sweet Dreams.”

Anderson celebrated the release by touring in Australia opening for Gary Clark Jr on all dates of his 2025 Australian tour where he sat in nightly on Gary’s encore.
