Gil Hockman is a DIY musician, from South Africa but based in Berlin. People say he sounds like Damon Albarn or Eels or Bill Callahan or Coldplay. He’d also like to be The Notwist plus Bruce Springsteen.

Composer (for movie and media) || Producer @OutlandSounds | Webdesigner @OutlandWeb | Cello, Piano and Guitar | graduated from CSU Los Angeles master in Commercial Music in 2015 and Graduated in music composition and production from the Prince Claus Conservatory in the Netherlands, in 2011. 

Just graduated my master studies in "Commercial Music" (Music composition, production, arranging, orchestration, technology and recording) at CalState Los Angeles where I studied with Steve Wight and Ross Levinson.

Interested in creating new sounds, hybrid orchestras and versatile in styles. 

My compositions, and other artist's compositions that I arrange, do not conform to any genre. Its classification is post-genre which is music beyond any description. In fact, the artist becomes the genre. My compositions are heavily influenced by progressive rock, post-rock, and classical music. My most Influential composers/musicians are Tony Banks, Richard Wright, Jeff Lynne, Steve Hackett, David Gilmour, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins, Keith Moon, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, and Modest Mussorgsky.
