Daktyl is a multi-instrumentalist with a diverse musical experience. He uses beat-driven grooves that merge Hip-hop, Soul, Garage and Bass for music that is equally relevant and exciting on both sides of the Atlantic. Daktyl first emerged on our radar when he conquered two official remixes for Dawn Golden’s album Still Life over the summer, which have sense collected over 1 million views together. A coveted sound across BBC Radio 1 & 1xtra over the past year, he’s also just completed a 32-date tour with Slow Magic and additional official remixes for heavy hitters such as Flosstradamus and Dirty South. Cyclical is a work of art from beginning to end and brings forth a unique sound, merging all modern genres with a futuristic approach, that we’ve all been hungering for but have yet to hear.

Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant.

Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.
