In June 2014, the decapitated formation of Back Down South joins forces with lone ranger Jack Harrison, who had landed in the picturesque Dutch city of Helmond after having crossed mountains and oceans in pursuit of a job. With this fresh British wind in their sails, Back Down South embarks on a journey to new glory.

Jack's Britpop influences mix very nicely with the original Back Down South sound, creating a tasty international mix between Alternative Indie Rock, Southern rock, and Britpop. With this new original sound they hope to elevate their locally already established name to the next level.


Based in the Netherlands, Roeland Ruijsch writes songs with both male and female vocals that range stylistically from sultry singer-songwriter to hot commercial Pop, Rock, and Dance. He recently produced several hit singles that reached the Dutch top 40, and he was a top ten finalist in the Dutch National Songwriter Competition of 2009. In addition to composing, Roeland has also played guitar in the hit musical "Mamma Mia." He studied guitar at the conservatory in Maastricht and composing/producing at the Faculty of Art, Media, and Technology at the Utrecht School for the Arts. 

“Hi my name is, joop (Wolters) I was born on 08-06-1971 in a place called Middelburg residing in the Netherlands. I am an autodidact composer/musician who started to play guitar/bass in 1986 at the age of 15. I learned making music mainly by coming up with my own stuff and listening to records. I love to compose, improvise, and record music by playing mainly guitar, bass guitar and programming drum i work like this since beginning 90ties , i use for final recordings programmed drums as well as Real drumers..it depends on the song (budget) . I played in several bands/projects besides my solo-works.. from 1988 onwards until now as well as commercial stuff live/studio. Also spending years playing in bandformations (Elysion from 1990 till 1996) and with band ,Arabesque (1989-2004) several other groups comercial circuit 
Met new musicians via the internet and this resulted in other projects and collaborations like (Shadrane, LaLu-project, Hubi Meisel..etc)!! ... 
, When recording my solo- albums i mainly play all of the instruments because i just loved to do like that,music to me is like painting and the instruments are the colours..Sometimes i love to invite guestmusicians/frriends for their personal voice on some of the tunes for soloes or other stuff
I also play with a trio (JoopWoltersTrio JWT) to bring some of my music out on the road ..
