Annexed away from the spotlight glare of his tastemaker Drumcode label, Mad Eye is Adam Beyer’s own production platform with no strict music policy, release schedule or artist roster. A personal musical retreat; the record label equivalent of a good holiday, Mad Eye releases are few and far between. Waited on with anticipation and excitement as Beyer comes up with something different from the norm, uninhibited by any expectation.

Adam Beyer’s latest Mad Eye offering has been a long time coming. Released just over two years since the previous EP, followers of the label will immediately recognize the understated, groove-filled tech house tones for which Mad Eye is know. ‘Flap’ leads things off with a burrowing groove underpinning hypnotic, jittery effects and intricate layering while b-side ‘Dot’ brings low throbbing bass, weaving metallic sounds and punchy beats. Finally, ‘Twist’ fuses swinging percussive vigor with deep shunting bass and haunting drawn-out horns to complete a classic sounding Mad Eye record.

Adam Beyer has produced an incredibly strong EP. The first track on the EP, Eye Contact, uses rhythmic vocal stabs to give it an infectious rhythm and groove. The second track, Raspberry Cave, uses a melodic synth-line and pad to create a dark, absorbing roller. On the digital release, another further two tracks have been added. Salvage Dub uses a funky bass line and rhythmic chords to full effect to gain the club’s attention. Cosa Mira, rounds of the EP by using percussion to construct an energetic rhythm with the help of some dreamy stabs to create a moody characteristic.

Slut Machine is a roller coaster, a track loaded with strong heavy bass, droning effects and filters that make this one a peak time dance floor lover. In Rattler a full throbbing bass plays the game cleverly with the rattling drums while ascending swooshing effects open up before Alen drops the kick back in&#8230;a bang on dance thrill! 
In Stalker we get a good taste of Alen&#8217;s excellent production skills with an effect-laden approach. A heavy bass on the foreground is blended with a manipulated stab on the background coming in and out, delaying and twisting our mind and body. Closed tight hihats chase the bass loaded groove followed by opened up pads and FX giving us just enough time for a breather before we dive back into the rabbit hole and get caught by haunting high pitched strings! This track will rattle the speakers and bring the house down!

Taking Place In You (Michael Kohlbecker 2011 Remix) - Eternal Basement

Tracky, stripped-back and tough as all hell, youngish Dutch duo TWR72 deliver an ultra-lean cut of prime techno for Turbo’s 158th release. This follows their Endless 72-loop set and Der Ausgang EP, which were secret- and not-so-secret-weapons of djs the likes of Josh Wink, Jackmaster, DVS1, Dave Clarke, Marcel Fengler, Jacques Greene, Dustin Zahn, Christian Martin and more.

With a title and track names that must be a reference to these “computers” we’ve been hearing so much about lately, this EP delivers four tracks of increasingly muscular big-room bruisers. All four loop a vocal and filter it over relentless drums. No filler, no big chords, nothing even remotely resembling an epic swoosh. In short, nothing to get in the way of inflicting pure destruction on any and all scarily-gurning 4am crowds you may find on the other side of your CDJs.

Marc Houle is back with his latest full-length album entitled “Cola Party” on his own Items & Things imprint.

The album contains 9 tracks, with the main singles being “Cola Party” and “I Don’t Wanna Know About You”. “Cola Party”, the lead track of the album, sets the scene with Houle’s textbook pitched down vocals weaving through tightly programmed drum patterns and heavy low frequencies. “I Don’t Wanna Know About You” is a late-night jam whose pulsating lead synth and effortlessly catchy main vocal hook make it one of the more upbeat tracks of the album. Both tracks will be released two weeks and one week before the album’s release respectively on iTunes.

“Cola Party” comes as a long-awaited follow up to Houle’s well-received 2012 LP “Undercover”. As an album, it contains all the elements fans and followers have grown to love with every Marc Houle release; his signature take on techno and jacking minimalistic-funk shines through from start to finish. If anything, the album is a clear example that Houle is still at the top of his game after more than 10 years in the business.

As a bonus for digital DJs and Traktor users worldwide, the album will be part of the Native Instruments' Traktor Remix Set series in July. The stems of 7 of the tracks from the album will be on this Remix Set release, following on from an array of other well-known artists who have done the same since the Remix Set series’ inception in Autumn 2012.

“Cola Party” is Houle’s sixth studio album and comes just in time for summer, with the release date set for 27th June.

"The name Hans Bouffmyhre was born in the summer of 2006, when a group of friends decided to start their own techno night in a dark basement in Paisley, Scotland. The first night was a massive success and the rest is now history. 15 years later Hans Bouffmyhre is an established artist within the worldwide techno scene. Having released music on some of the worlds most esteemed techno labels like Soma Records, Electric Deluxe, Perc Trax, Suara and others. Meanwhile his own label Sleaze Records goes from strength to strength, firmly stapled as one of the best techno labels in the UK.

Hans has been lucky enough to play regular DJ sets at some of the biggest and most well known clubs in the world, from the infamous Berghain in Berlin, to Melkweg in Amsterdam, Rex Club in Paris, Sub Club in Glasgow amongst many others. He is known for bringing a raw, hypnotic and energetic style. Still only in his mid 30’s and with already so much experience as a DJ, producer, label manager and party organiser, the future looks bright for Hans Bouffmyhre."
