Last Days of Summer 2024

This was a special one for me. Losing both parents a year apart has been rough. I took time off from playing music but coming back up for air with another opportunity to close out Sunset Campout--the best party in the world--with friends and family meant everything to me. Feels appropriate to post this one on Thanksgiving as I couldn't be more grateful to have all you nice people in my life. As always, a huge thank you to Solar and Galen for having me back and all of the Campout team for making it happen. I spent years pulling tunes for this one so I hope you enjoy listening as much a I enjoyed making it.

208 Westside Sessions – Latest Mix

Coming at you with another set of cuts I’m feeling right now. That raw West Coast Underground House sound. Don’t get it twisted, I’ve lived in Idaho for a couple decades, but I haven’t forgotten where I’m from. South Bay all day, every day. That San Jose, Silicon (Soul) Valley flavor if you know, you know.

Shoot outs to Solid Grooves, Arturo Garces, EBE, and my compa Hektor Perez who reached out to me a long time ago on a mix I made. We have been friends ever since, a true house soldier believe that. 

I’m not here trying to step over the ones who paved the way. That’s not my style. I’ve never been into playing the politics or holding onto something that only a few recognize.

When I moved here, I saw what the scene had to offer some truly dope folks out here. Just like anywhere, the circles overlap. You just gotta stay cool and keep it moving. Much love to those who’ve had my back in rooms I wasn’t in. I see you. And to those who got caught up in some nonsense it is what it is. I still feel you.

This has always been about shining light on real artists, not just DJs. We’ve been blessed to work with some incredible people from around the world. The truth is, there’s too much clique energy in the game. So do your own thing. Outwork everybody. That’s the move.

When people try to compare themselves to you, you won’t need to say a word. Just keep building. Focus on you. That’s what flips your life. Looking back, you’ll realize it was never about flexing it’s just that this House Music runs deep in my blood. I’ve lived this culture. And I’m not here for anyone trying to discredit the ones who came before us.

That’s what it’s always been about spreading the House sound. Not being part of some scene. Not playing politics. Just putting in the work and being recognized as an artist. Even during my break, I’ve still dropped more House than most around here.

Feels good to be at a place in life where I don’t need to play the game. For me, it’s always been about my family (blood and chosen). My circle’s small, and that’s how I like it.

Got a vault full of unreleased projects over a couple hundred deep. I’ll be releasing a lot of it soon. And to the folks who supported the label during the tough times you’re not forgotten. If you were on the Lifetime List, I got you. That music’s coming your way. Thank you for riding with us because at the end of the day, it’s always been Just Us (me and my wife), and a few real ones we’ve been lucky enough to meet along the way.

To the ones lurking in the same circles don’t bother with the fake reach outs now. I’m not hard to find. But I see through all that.

Keep building. Don’t let anyone discredit what you’ve done or where you’re going especially those who haven’t even come close. Music is truth. And truth sets you free.

When it comes to Underground House in the 208 there’s only one label that’s been down since day one. Not just when it was trendy or back in style. But because it’s life. You’re either House… or you ain’t.
