Happy Science return with new single The Last Goodbye (impacting on Friday 28th January) – an intoxicating taste of what’s to come from the North London four piece since their recent signing to Margate based label Launderette Records.

Following on from their electric debut Future Vertigo, which made the Amazing Radio playlist for three straight weeks, The Last Goodbye delivers on all fronts. Recorded at Shrunken Head Studios (King Krule, Ghostpoet), London and produced with intelligence, raw energy, sweat and meaning, it’s time we all start listening to what Happy Science are saying.

From pub-going eccentrics to creative dynamites, Happy Science are the band you can’t live without. They claim to be an “alternative to alternative rock music” and their fuzz filled, modern pop offerings more than live up to that claim. North London based Happy Science are not a band in any traditional sense of the word. A collective of producers, mix engineers and multi-instrumentalist songwriters; Happy Science are a melting pot of creative innovation.

As with many other artists, Happy Science were hit hard by the pandemic. The band were set to officially launch themselves in spring 2020; with a raft of shows booked throughout summer 2020. Instead, the four-piece spent their time writing and recording; honing their skills and producing songs to be excited about. Their much-anticipated debut show at The Shacklewell Arms, London in June sold out and their high-octane live performances have been much talked about.

A diverse range of influences, from political change to art, culture, protest, film noir and more; Happy Science are a modern day musical equivalent to the films of Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. You can hear the raw voice of working class North London estates clash with fuzzed drenched guitars and pop sensibilities. Musically, the band has cited Sonic Youth, The Velvet Underground, Can, NEU! Kraftwork, Blondie, The Last Poets and Pixies as key inspirations.
