Sound Avenue opens the month of October with a new single from label boss Madloch and frequent studio partner Subnode. Now approaching five years in their creative partnership, the Belgian duo has continued to build on their creative synergy, in turn compiling a catalog of resonant worldly sounds, one which has delighted a broad spectrum of electronic tastemakers in Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren. Often incorporating elements of dub, deep and progressive house; the duo’s cleverly coaxed creations dive into a whirlpool of spiralling directions; a trait which makes each one of their new projects much-anticipated. With the year being highlighted by the recently released two-track showcase ‘A Fading Dream’, Madloch and Subnode now combine their extensive forces once again, returning to Sound Avenue with the thoughtful ‘September Day’, alongside remixes from Monojoke, Fabri Lopez and DOT.

Following his immense 'West On Mars' EP on Bedrock last autumn, Guy J returns to his own Lost & Found imprint with two absolutely stunning pieces of journeyman techno. Inspired by the classic trance sounds that he grew up to, Guy J has dug super-deep and returned with something super-special. Musical, emotional, hypnotic: both tracks will take you to places you've not explored in years. 'Aurora' hits with chunky drum arrangement that's reminiscent of Deep Dish at the height of their powers; deep, driving and wide enough to carry the weight of the pristine synths, humanised rhythmic textures and melodic weaves, this keeps building until the very end of its epic tenure. Beautiful. 'Airborne', meanwhile, is the full trip: almost 10 minutes of locked-in beauty as we glide further and further into a state of unblinkered positivity. Building us up with precision tension, Guy doesn't even introduce the life-affirming riff until 4.30 but by jove you know about it when he does.
