Elif continues to show her endless list of talents; The Turkish label has enlisted the free spirited talent to compile their latest VA ‘Harabe Nightmares II’. 

In a tumultuous year, Elif has been a shining light. From her ABRACADABRA residency which provides escapism and connection at a time we need it most, to stellar original releases on Stil Vor Talent, A Tribe Called Kotori, and remixes on Anjunadeep and AKASHA, she’s used this time to truly focus and flourish. Whether she’s writing a track or creating a set, it’s a compelling journey that draws you in. So it’s no wonder she’s been entrusted with compiling the latest Harabe Nightmares compilation. 

The track list features a diverse range of both emerging and established talent, plus Elif and Marat Mode team up on the driving cut ‘Koan’, where a catchy riff meets a building synth top line in a colourful rocketing crescendo. 

‘I was thrilled to be asked by Cagdas (Anatolian Sessions), a fellow Turkish producer, to compile this VA’ Elif says. ‘I loved having the opportunity to curate music that I like playing from producers I love and want to support. It took a couple of months to compile and was so fun and so satisfying that it made me consider starting my own label in the future! Harabe is an exciting emerging imprint that I'm happy to be a part of. I am in love with each and every track on the compilation and very proud of all the artists who contributed.’

The Turkish label has been bubbling up since it launched in 2019, releasing heartfelt music that defies typical genre norms. ‘Harabe Nightmares ||’ will join a back catalog of quality and consistency from this indie imprint.

Sebastian has been sharing and mixing his tunes
through the world since he got his first MK2 back in
Paris in 2003. Discovering nightlife at Le Palace in
the late 90s and soon collecting vinyl's from Parisian
stores like Katapult, Techno Import or Kitsuné, the
original inspiration came from the Detroit Scene
through Garnier's Rex residencies and the terrific Kill
the DJ parties at le Pulp.
He has been behind the decks throughout Europe,
Latin America and currently resides in New York
City. As both a DJ and Amaya Mezcal Club Music
Curator, he is well-equipped to take his audience on
a unified journey of downtempo, melodic house with
deep and dark transporting sounds.

Over the past 8 years or so we have had, along with Theo Parrish, the honour of playing the monthly residencies at a small basement club in Shoreditch, London with an impeccable sound system. After 20 years of operation, it was time to move on and close the doors on a place that has a lot to answer for in shaping modern club culture. To say this space along with the owner Ade’s singular vision was fundamental in our personal musical formation would be a complete understatement. 
 
On the day of their closing, manager Charlotte asked us if we’d put the system through its paces for the last time that the club would be open to the public. We set about packing the anthems from our respective residencies and on the night once the people were through the doors played 2 records in turn for the rest of the dance. We included tracks of our own and of friends that were made with that place in mind. Records like Daphni - Ye Ye and Four Tet - Pinnacles were made to first be played at Kieran’s nights there, and the Floating Points - Vacuum EP was born out of the CD-R night at the club, and its launch party was the trigger for Sam’s monthly residency.
 
We set this recording up just before the start of the night and unfortunately it distorts in places, but we make no apology for how joyfully noisy people get! The vibe in the room this night was typical of the club on any given night and we hope this recording captures just a fraction of the spirit of a Plastic People night.
 
A massive thank you from us to everyone that has come down to the nights over the years and supported our music there. We are truly humbled to have shared the music we love with people at this place, and your energy in turn has influenced the way we make music on an unfathomable scale. We also thank the bosses Charlotte Kepel and Ade Fakile for inviting us to the club and having faith in us over  these years! All the best for the future!

2k20. What a year so far. We, the crew at the Hive Audio label offices, are pretty much certain that absolutely nothing rolled out as planned for anyone around the globe this year and that there hasn't been much time or opportunity for celebration for anyone out there in the electronic music community or beyond either – even though we had different things in mind, especially in regards of our 10 years anniversary as a label which we already heralded with the quadruple EP series „The First Ten Years“ rolled out equally through Hive Audio and its recently launched offspring Hive Audio Dark earlier this year.

We wish every one a Happy New 2021 and are delighted to start the new year with some fresh talent from Cran Canaria: Nau Squaglia brings you one of the most popular and traditional drink from Spain: a Sangria!

In constant search for a personal and distinctive sound, and after a steady road of learning, practice and experimentation, 2020 marks Nau Squaglia´s debut as a producer and Dj as well as the first live performance in Gran Canaria, his home base.

With a musical background ranging from rock guitar to electronic music and Jazz and Blues, Nau Squaglia connected the dots to draw a musical loop that seems to result in an endless creative inspiration.
 
The love for organic sounds is present all over his tracks, combining real instruments recordings with more traditional electronic elements. His first album "Remain in Light" was released on the Spanish label Be Adult Music.

2021 will keep unfolding more fantastic works of Nau Squaglia, such as the beautiful track included in this set, which will be released on Timujin & atalkingdrum's imprint Earthly Delights soon.

Whoa! How did I get here?

Last thing I remember I was sitting in my room and taking a sip of tea. It tasted quite bitter though, now that I think about it. Should I have taken out the ginger earlier? 
But that doesn’t explain how I ended up in the middle of a desert. 
I can’t say that I hate it though. I wanted to take a vacation for quite a while now… 
But I didn’t pack any sunscreen. Or my phone! If I don’t take pictures, no one will believe me what happened.

As I’m walking the land, more and more plants start to occur and the desert magically changes into a steppe. But as the biodiversity grows, so does the feeling of being observed. Was this cactus just moving, or was it its weird shadow? Someone was snickering now, I’m sure of that! – Come out and show yourself! – Less hesitantly than I would have thought the shadow emerges and reveals his slender silhouette. “I am a doob” it says. “Our kind roams these parts since the dawn of time and it doesn’t happen often that we get visitors.” 

As we wander for a bit and talk, he tells me about their kind and their culture. It seems these creatures have been here longer than any other species that is known to man, living in complete symbiosis with their surroundings. They tend to the earth and the earth gives back generously, so they don’t know jealousy or greed or suffering. What a nice way to live! 

I might just stay for a little longer and listen to his tales of a palmy life.

Hey everyone, i wasn't sure that i was going to be doing one of these this year.I honestly just didn't feel like it up until a few days ago, until i opened Ableton and decided to give it a go. Usually i have a tracklist running for several months before i finish this mix, but this year i decided to take a different approach by just mixing it randomly (its 2020 after all planning is pointless). After graduating in a Music Conservatory in Brazil, he decided to refine his musician skills by learning and playing Jazz music at the MI (Musicians Institute, CA), where he graduated, which provided him the foundation for his musician career. Back to 2001, he also introduced to the Psy-trance scene. All those different tastes and new sounds blew his mind. After all those years Eduardo decided to focus his experience in the electronic music production, creating the Orecch project which is comprised by captivating melodies and harmonies, giving to those musics a special touch.

The formation was founded eight years ago and the crew has started to produce and mix techno & progressive house  music.
The ambition of the project is to share their vibes and atmosphere with people from all around the world.
They are operating with modern progressive house embedded melodic techno elements, besides They are also using trance effects to give some run to our tracks.
The nature by itself, especially the forest motivates and inspires them in producer and personal life, as well.
