Le Carousel is Phil Kieran's latest LP, which is great, it was a pleasure to work with this track, and all the better because I decided I was going to do something weird with it! The lovely pads and vocals provided the backbone for my remix, and I just tried to accentuate these with a long ambient build.

The track would probably work better just with this ambient part and no more, but I decided to add on some sort of odd drop at the end, where it goes all hectic with lots of double timed randomised beats. To continue with the unexpected theme I went for another extended build to total distortion, climaxing in nothingness!

It's probably not the easiest track to fit into a set unless you just use the ambient part, but it's always nice to just let go and mess around with a track without worrying about how it might function outside of what you feel you want to do musically at the time.

Release date is 23rd September on PKR

Finnish producer Caira is mainly known for his progressive house productions, but we are delighted to share another side of his musical taste. "The World Stands Still" EP experiments with the Indie Dance and synthwave genres.

"The World Stands Still" comes at a time that is seemingly coincidental with today's global conflict. However put into perspective, this electronic track has very nice nostalgic retro elements packed into the pads and slower grooves. "Alone" is uptempo with an Outrun type of style. Its retro vibes have a futuristic sci-fi sound and should appeal heavily to the synthwave community. "Happy from Within" is another synthwave inspired track with an analog bassline and soft electronic pads.
