Drawing heavily on influences from new wave and post-punk, Personal Touch linger in melancholy at the edge of the dance floor. James’ vocals tell a desolate and tragic narrative, lamenting lost love and emotional isolation. Combined with driving drum machine patterns, lush synth and arpeggiated melodic phrases, the result is a dark, eerie and catchy form of nostalgic pop, that treads a line somewhere between dread, heartbreak and euphoria. Personal Touch are James Beck and Camryn Rothenbury - two friends living in Melbourne, who have known each other for over 15 years.
