Following his latest contribution to Innervisions Limbo compilation and a personal EP on TAU, Skatman returns to his home of Scatcity Records, offering up his second album Aromanticism.

This eight track collection defines Skatman's current artistic direction as well as his vision for the future of his label and the melodic scene. We see him bring his sound forward as a more minimalistic approach to the deep and melodic sounds that have shaped him over the years.

Skatman’s mission with this LP is to bring back the integrity to the sound he loves, taking it to a new level and triggering a change of direction within the niche that is melodic electronic music. The name ‘Aromanticism’ is a reference to the revolutionary aspect of the realism movement that happened as a reaction to what dominated art and literature in the age of romanticism in the 19th century.

’New Era’ is up first, introducing you to the album with delicate lead lines and a mellow, broken house groove that eases you into the sound of Skatman. ’Sophie Maria’ is again melodically driven, with a soft underlying bass line carrying reverb soaked chords and twinkling flurries of synth patterns.

Skatman starts to darken the mood with ‘Moonlight Shadows’, bringing much tripper and adverse sounds to the stage, paving the way perfectly for the more minimal sounds of ‘Orient Maze’.

‘Intergalactic Knights’ launches into vinyl number two with echoing snare hits and more mind boggling hooks before the chugging, meatier ‘Words Don’t Make Sense’ storms through with an ethereal vocal sample and marching percussion.

‘Purple Rain’ begins the journey back to earth with rattling hi-hats carrying reverb-drenched leads and a monotonous bass line. Closing the show is the title track ‘Aromanticism’ which sees Skatman offer up a groovier percussive backbone and 80s influenced pads, gelling around a slightly acidic bass foundation.

Aromanticism LP lands March 26th on Scatcity Records with a special 4 track vinyl edition running alongside the digital.

The man behind the techno orientated project "Villa Violet" is no other than Marco Scherer. The German-based Dj & Producer who hardly has left his studio since 1997, is always on the hunt for new and unheard sounds, transforming them into his arcane signature sound. Marco Scherer is with projects like "Datacult" very successful within the progressive psytrance genre, 

But also as "Villa Violet" Marco Scherer had already releases on legendary german techno imprint "Harthouse Records". the legendary label founded by non other than techno god "Sven Väth" himself.

Beside of all that Marco Scherer is also a writer for the German music magazine BEAT and sound designer. so without any doubt a passionate and well educated child of the oder electronic music scene.

Here you listen to an interpretation by "Hardy Heller & Alex Connors". to define the musical genre of this remix by them is quiet hard for us as it includes elements out of the techno universe but also some out of the traditional old school house world... but weather it sounds like techno or house to you... we hope you like what you hear !

After a little break ANIMAR returns to bring you some deep house sounds to help you through this crazy times. But music will help us to get through, so it’s up to our artist SVEN KEGEL to encourage us with his DUBLIN EP.

The EP also contains a remix by Mrs. MAXIE KÖNIG, who recently released on famous labels like POKER FLAT, PLASTIC CITY as well as her homebase OHRAL. The title track of this EP called DUBLIN is a gorgeous tune which creates a wonderful, kind of melancholic atmosphere in which you can loose yourself while the beat just carries you away. 
The slow development of several sounds make this track for sure a beautiful listening experience. 

MAXIES’ interpretation instead goes into a more rhythm orientated direction. 
The original bassline get pumped up and has now a leading role, she increases the pace of the track as well which sets her audience immediately in a dancing mood. RATHGAR, like the trendy district of Dublin, includes some catchy house chords, a bold drumming section.

ARPATEC is a project by the Ohral residents MAXIE KÖNIG and ALEX CONNORS. Both had been in 2020 already quiet sucessfull as "single artists" with releases on labels such as "POKERFLAT", "HARTHOUSE", "PLSTIC CITY", "BLUFIN" & their homebase "OHRAL RECORDINGS". Several high rankings at BEATPORT included.

Now they join forces for their new project called "Arpatec" which is focusing on straight and energetic techno music made to make you dance.

With the opening tune "Velvet" you immediately know what you can expect: an uncompromising bassdrum, energetic grooves and a very hypnotic vibe which all together create an atmosphere which cannot be resisted. This peak time monster definitely will carry away it's audience - no doubt.
