‘Everything Tastes Bad’ is the debut release from Snowhore, the Philadelphia-based three-piece fronted by singer and guitarist Veronica Isley. Originally self-released as a digital Bandcamp release back in September 2018, Devil Town Tapes is delighted to present this special reissue on cassette/digital, newly expanded with the previously unheard tracks ‘Sad Song’ and ‘Maybe When I’m Older’, and updated artwork. 

A reflection on and an expression of love at its messiest, ‘Everything Tastes Bad’ collects some of the first songs ever written by Veronica Isley. Propelled by punchy instrumentation and a refreshingly economic approach to songwriting, Isley’s dynamic and raw vocals sit front and centre, providing the perfect vehicle for the startlingly frank lyrical themes that run throughout. Looking back on the release, Isley notes that “without much intention, each song ended up being a testament to the impact that, for better or worse, each relationship had on my life”.
